Now I enjoyed both Morrowind and Oblivion very much.........and some might call me crazy, but....I still think that Gothic 1 and Gothic 2 are both more enjoyable than either Morrowind or Oblivion, so I'm really looking forward to G3.

P.S. - I wish gamesites would get off repeating the overly exaggerated rumor of wonky controls. With a small amount of research and easy tweaking, G1 could be played with pretty normal shooter controls and you could select normal shooter controls in the G2 menu.

P.S.S. - If only they would learn how to hype, market and distribute G3 in the US they could have a huge success. Having to either wait a year after European release, or buying a Euro version through gogamer.com, like G2 is going to put G3 in the same category as G2...great game that only started to build a strong US following way too late to make a difference.

I agree. If this game is marketed well, it could be a huge success.

I've played Gothic 1 and 2 to completion more than once; I love the series.

That said, I've never been able to warm up to Morrowind, and I somehow doubt Oblivion would strike me much better.

I kinda laugh at the notions of G3 having poor controls. The first two games had...nonstandard control schemes, I'll admit. But after you use them for an hour or two, everything clicks. I have to say I love the controls from those games, and I'm sure they've done nothing but improve them from G3. The combat sounds like it's been revamped sufficiently as well. I can't wait for this game.

So why should we Germans not be the first - one-time :D Films, games, books etc. coming from the US we also do watch, play, read and so on, but we always have to wait for them :( . So one-time we can be happy to live in good old Europe.

But I must agree: I cannot wait ´til the game will be released.

Funny - I had big problems with the controls and I hope the mouse can help to control the Unnamed Hero much easier.

I also do hope that the PBs will have great succes with G3 so that for the next game (G4?) they will have much more freedom for designing. They did a terrific job, not only looking for the big money but cultivating the community, designing wonderful handmade worlds etc.

So let´s hope G3 will be realesed in time (also in the US :o ) and that there will be no bugs etc.

The German version and the American version will be released at about the same time, if not at the same time. As for our preview, as soon as they ship us a copy of it. We usually get a copy about two weeks before they hit the stores, because Jo Wood should know what rabid fans we are.

In reading the articles, the new combat system has me a bit worried as being too simplistic. Oh well, we will have to wait and see.
