John Woo continues his venture into gaming with Stranglehold, coming to the XBox 360, PS3 and PC this holiday season. We have 3 new Screenshots (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15811) of the game starring Chow Yun–Fat.

Very nice. This is definitely one of my most anticipated 2006 releases. It wasn't perfect, but Psi-ops was one of the most ingenious and underappreciated games of the last generation. It gives me huge faith in their follow-up.

Was planning on buying a PS3 for this game. Then i heard about the 360 version a day later. My wallet let out a sigh of relief.

SHOW ME THE DOVES!
and that screenshot is sideways. No one holds two guns while standing up straight in John woo's movies. They're always jumping to the side.

This reminds me of my favorite quote from a Chow Yun Fat movie:
"Give a man a gun, and he thinks he's Superman. Give him two, and he thinks he's God."

This is a follow-up to Psi-ops (not as in direct sequel, but as in same development house)? If that's true, count me as excited.

This looks so damn nice it's not funny. I can't wait to see how it turns out.

It's unfortunate that they're using newer Berettas. Note the slanted dust cover. Chow Yun-Fat ALWAYS uses horizontal dust covers! And what's with the hand guards on the M4? It looks like Playskool made them.

mpsmith, maybe he needed some new guns. Or maybe it's some in game advertising .
Sidenote, doesn't it look like Ron Pearlman got a job in this game.

Sequel? To what?
Oh! You didn't mean "sequel", as in a follow up to a previous installment.
You meant "sequal", which I can only assume is some sort of New Zealand seafaring bird that no one has ever heard of. :p
Game looks good. Here's hoping they pull of the gameplay, because I'm pretty tired of FPS's on my 360.

Nice one GrinR. Hard Boiled is a kick ass movie, way ahead of its time. I can not wait to play through the tea house scene in Stranglehold.
This is one of my most anticipated games. After Black I am very weary of any game that claims dynamic environmental destruction, but all of the previews and videos of this game are looking beautiful. Best of all, everything stays in the environment. Shit that gets broke does not magically dissapear like in other games, and it all maintains the proper physics.
The only worry I have is that the game apparently does some stuff automatically for the player. So if you run towards a table, you will automatically slide across it. Approach a bannister and you will run up it. At the moment it sounds like it will make the game more fluid and cinematic, but there is fine line between that and making the player feel like they are not in control.

Yep. It's the same Midway internal team that did Psi-ops (I'm not sure if they have a specific name, but they are based in Chicago).

Hmmm.
Ha Ha yuk yuk yuk you got me. The spell check police caught a blooper. Want a cookie?
It’s a sequel to Hard Boiled. Spiritual if anything less but when you continue the story with the same main character, even if it is in a different medium, what else is it?

Exactly... I don't know if it's a sequel, cause it could be a prequel. But in any terms, it's the same character back for more ass kicking. Could be like James Bond like how none of his stories really tie in together to you don't know which adventure goes where in the timeline within the Bond-verse.

But in this one Chow-Yun could always start in a tea house blowing everyone away!

Is there a tea house in this game? Or do we really want to play a Hard Boiled game.

I think there's a tea house, as it certainly looks like one is in there (http://www.xboxyde.com/news_2936_en.html) - and the environment is definitely modeled to mimic the one in the opening of Hard Boiled. But it could just be a bar that looks like a tea house I suppose...

Is Chow Yun-Fat voicing his character in this one? I hope so. He's awesome (Replacement Killers was cool).

8-Ball says yes to the voice, http://imdb.com/title/tt0460949/.
And as far as tea houses go. I don't know hell, count on white doves too.

It doesn't just have doves in it, they are actually part of a special move you can perform.

Maybe, but personally I don't expect it to have much longevity. It should be great while it lasts, but there's no way it's going to be offering the huge level of content of something like Forza 2.

Clips? You mean.. the magazines? And no, I don't mean the magazine. I mean the hand guards. The things that keep your hands from getting burned and provide grip.

"Give a man a gun, and he thinks he's Superman. Give him two, and he thinks he's God."
Hardboiled.
I will buy anything that has both: John Woo; Chow Yun-Fat.
I don't care if it's just related to them or what. I'm in.
