it might be fun in coop multiplayer, but they are taking a huge risk making the core of their game be dependant on AI ..
We all know how often that "best AI ever" thing never really works out ...

I'm actually pretty excited about playing a shooter that is co-op from the ground up. There are too many games where the co-op mode just isn't very fleshed out (maybe a few bonus maps/scenarios and that's it).

Really? Did Splintercell do nothing for you in the Co-op dept?
This is a game that I dont give a shit about. There are lots out there, but I could not get less excited about this game. It is not possible.

using the combined skills necessary to become the deadliest TWO man military outfitTwo men squeezing into a single military outfit sounds pretty fabulous
players can seamlessly transition from AI to a live partnerI'm all about transitioning seamlessly from one partner to the next... the trick is never giving them your cell number
Customize and upgrade dozens of deadly weapons and share them with your partner off or onlineMy partners LOVE it when I share my "deadly weapon" with them
The PAI will also react and adjust to the gamer’s ability and how they play the game by taking the lead or following, driving strategy or taking orders. That's some real kinky BSDM shit there. Does it do gimp-suits?
edit: also cocks

If the AI is as shit hot as they claim it to be, it might actually be fun in single player (with AI)....or it could just be a marketing gimick and have the real meat of the gameplay in the real co-op on live
Personally I have never really cared for miltary shooters, as great as some of those types of games are (Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon), they just don't appeal to me.
I might play this game to see the AI tell me to fuck off when I order him to run headfirst into a firefight while I hang back to save my own skin.

Last I recall you couldn't do all the missions in co-op. I liked the co-op in the game, but it wasn't exactly the bulk of the experience.

Yeah but what Splinter Cell did was DESIGN missions specific to coop so it made the experience that much better.

Mercenaries rip-off.
I'd bet on this game being far more linear than Mercenaries was, at least that's the impression I'm getting. Think Black, only with a partner and not in first person.

I agree, but what makes me interested in this game is that the entire game will be designed specifically for co-op rather than just a portion.

See that's exactly what will make [some] people bitch about it. There will be no single player component. ie: No lone-wolfing it without bringing your field-bitch whether he be AI or meat. Im reserving judgement, a table for two by the window, non smoking.

I think this game looks cool, I'm hoping its great, and I suspect it will be with many of the original splinter cell team members being part of this team.

From WorthPlaying's preview: "He'll remember friendly fire. He can also die, and it's your responsibility to keep him alive. Expect to perform virtual CPR more than once if you're not that great a player."
Yes... yes they will.

kane & lynch is the game from the makers of hitman, altho I dunno about it looking way better.
I'm eexcited for both games at this point. I was disappointed by the game informer article tho, wayyyy too much fluff.

In other words: If the AI is shit, which it will be, the game won't be any fun.
