Pro-G (www.pro-g.co.uk) got the chance to take a look at Company of Heroes (http://www.pro-g.co.uk/pc/company_of_heroes/preview-245.html), the new PC RTS from THQ. This one could be a real cracker!

Company of Heroes is a game destined to push back the boundaries of what is thought to be possible in the RTS genre. Whilst it may not completely revolutionise the genre, Company of Heroes (http://www.pro-g.co.uk/pc/company_of_heroes/preview-245.html) does represent the next great evolutionary step. It uses realistic tactics and damage models to add to the atmosphere of authenticity, but doesn't foul itself on the tank trap of realism for realism's sake. It uses unprecedented levels of graphical fidelity and physics modelling to create a wholly immersive environment, but the level of violence never feels gratuitous - it's simply a representation of how things actually were.

Another RTS.......I just wish they would do something different. It seems like all war games as of late are either FPS or RTS, I'm getting so tired of this.

You're nuts. Crazy ass fruitcake nuts.

God I dream every day of getting a decent RTS. My only current hope? Supreme Commander. MY WHOLE WORLD RESTS ON THAT ONE GAME!

Yeah, I love DoW and will probubly love Company of Heroes... But are they really 'strategy'? I know technically they are. But it's always much smaller fights, much more like a tactical game than strategy.

I'm definately hoping Supreme Commander is atleast half what it's promised to be.
