GameBrink (http://www.gamebrink.com/) takes a look at the 360 action shooter
After a lengthy cutscene showing the demise of society through several avenues such as a huge earthquake on the US west coast, Bullet Witch throws you into the action. You control a young woman who dresses provocatively, carries a giant gun, and at times controls the weather. During your time spent in this post apocalyptic world you will encounter a number of different locales, a decent variety of enemies, some shockingly cool boss fights, and a whole lot of shooting. If you're in the market for mindless fun with some really memorable moments and mostly high quality visuals then read on.

Well that came outta left field. I expected this game to be total garbage, but it sounds pretty decent. I'm always down for a game with good boss fights. DMC, Metroid Prime, God of War - boss fights like that are the best.

I downloaded a trailer for this from thwe Japanese marketplace. The trailer starts off looking like a PS2 game; jaggy, chunky and clunky. When the trailer ends though, it looks like a completely different game, one with potential.
I look forward to a demo so I can try it out for myself.
While you are on the Japanese Marketplace, download the trailer for Project Slyph. Yummy.

I am liking the style of this game, and the 360 is missing a Devil May Cry esque action slasher, and this should fill the void nicely, if only until something better comes along, say Otogi 3 mabye?

OH WAIT!
No, no, I got my games confused. The demo is for Zegapain. Erk, sorry, got my games confused there. Maybe just some wishful thinking... :p

Yay!
My copy is in the mail atm, good to hear it's not gonna be a complete waste of money.
And as for zegapain, well, that arrived last week, and my initial impression is that it's a very very bland ZotE. Not really a terrible game, but there's far better games in the genre. I haven't gotten into any of the mech customisation though, I'm only going off early story stages, so hopefully I'll be proven wrong there.

Unrelated to the gameplay (which may indeed be a lot of fun), but with regards to the "high quality visuals" comment in the quoted part...
Does anyone else feel like we're entering a realm of seriously diminishing returns when it comes to graphical realism?
When so many things look "real" in a game world (the background environments in that video, for example, are pretty impressive), the things that don't look real, or behave in a realistic way, stand out and make the whole game look worse. Somewhat similar to how a few moments of really bad CGI can completely take you out of an otherwise fun movie.
When I'm playing Metal Slug, I don't care that every single guy I kill slumps over the same way, or that not everything in the environment is interactive, or any of the things "unrealistic" about an old school 2D shooter; there's no attempt at realism by the developers against which such complaints could be lodged. But I watch the Level 1 video for Bullet Witch and all I can think is "wow, all those zombies flail their arms and scream in exactly the same manner when shot. That's... odd." and "How is it my overpowered assault rifle can overturn and demolish this full metal dumpster, but doesn't even splinter the picket fence that guy's hiding behind?"
Oblivion had a lot of those issues, too... so much of the world felt real, and tangible, and alive, and yet I couldn't help but wonder why all the foliage in their world was impervious to fire.
*Shrug* Maybe it's just me, but all it does for me is make me yearn for the day when we can make a game's world behave as realistically as we can make it look. And yet, to DO that will require either a MASSIVE leap in the sophistication of physics processing (so much so that it becomes "routine" and developers can easily put it in their games) or for all development teams to be of nearly infinite size and have nearly infinite time to actually get all those details right. So I can't help but feel like all we're doing is setting ourselves up for failure, striving for graphical realism when the gameplay can't back it up.
A boss fight on top of a flying jetliner involving dragons and flying eyeballs
well that's it, i'm sold!

It's made by Cavia. Think Drakengaard. They're not a terrible developer.
