VoodooExtreme (http://ve3d.ign.com/) has posted four new screenshots (http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/722/722002p1.html) from Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars for your viewing pleasure.

I am really pulling for this to be great - I miss the C&C franchise.

I don't think I can say that yet. They have yet to say what's going to seperate this game from generals, and from all the truly bad ass RTSs coming out. Not that I know about any of those bad ass RTSs, 'cause the only one I care about is Supreme Commander.

But I would like to see a really fucking good C&C game again. IMO the last good one was RA2. I'm really hoping this isn't just C&C: Generals Part 2, and it has some gameplay features to set it apart from the rest of the flock. Otherwise I don't see it doing well on the C&C name alone. [/ramble]

Those cristals should cast shadows. Since everything else does, the crystals end up looking like a bad photo montage. Looks like it's floating...

I am divided.

On the one hand, it is C&C.

On the other hand, it is EA. And I wasn't very pleased with Generals, or the Battle for Middle Earth.

The handling of the story is also very important. Command & Conquer began to distintegrate quite badly in that regard following Tiberian Sun in my opinion. Red Alert 2 was needlessly camp and to me it never felt like the excellent gameplay alone provided the true sequel Red Alert deserved.

Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge was as good at it got, PERIOD.

These new screenshots do absolutely nothing to alter my opinion. C&C3 will be an unmitigated and likely ignored failure in every sense of the word.

I really wonder how much of Westwood is left at EA...

I don't know if any of you have read the article I had posted the other day, but they are doing some good with this. There are even podcasts that EA puts out to update fans.

A lot of you brought up some good points, but instead of sounding like a broken record, read saturdays article or go to commandandconquer.com. You'll be pleased.

I just don't know how this will top Supreme Commander, the many expansions, Company of Heroes, Mark of Chaos... Yeah I can list off a lot more. Honestly, it will be a huge mistake most likely.

RTS Blizzard is dead and C&C just doesn't matter anymore. Supreme Commander and Dawn of War have completely inherited the Command/Craft RTS supremacy mantle.

Crystals would still project a discoloration or something onto the ground as light passed through them unless they were absolutely perfectly clear. Then you would see an outline where the angles in the crystals are. So there should be something there.
