PS2.IGN (http://ps2.ign.com/) is reporting (http://ps2.ign.com/articles/721/721965p1.html) that three more songs have been officially announced for Guitar Hero II. In addition, IGN has posted in-game videos (http://media.ps2.ign.com/media/823/823033/vids_1.html) of these three songs.
The three newly-announced tracks are covers of Stone Temple Pilots' "Trippin' on a Hole in a Paper Heart, Anthrax's "Madhouse" and Motley Crue's "Shout at the Devil"... Already announced tracks include covers of Reverend Horton Heat's "Psychobilly Freakout", KISS' "Strutter", Black Sabbath's "War Pigs", Butthole Surfers' "Who Was in My Room Last Night?", Van Halen's "You Really Got Me" and Rush's "YYZ", along with the original master recordings of Primus' "John the Fisherman" and "Arterial Black" by Drist.

Mmmm, more songs that will eventually be added to the list of "Can't hear them without thinking of Guitar Hero."

Yet another list without Metallica, Dragonforce or Dream Theater. Once they put one of their songs in the game we'll see who's the REAL guitar hero.
Edit: And this game is fun only for those who can't play guitar. Its like DDR being fun for those who can't dance.

I would have been behind Dragonforce on GH2 until I actually bought the CD, and now I don't know if I could stand it. I actually got depressed and then got a stomach ache about 4 tracks into the CD.
As for Metallica, my gut instinct says that's a sure bet.

I mentioned DF because of their level of difficulty. I also grew tired of how...power metal their songs are. I mean.... ALL OF THEM START THE SAME WAY! I know thats their thing... but... COME ON! But yea, Metallica would be the shit. Too bad Lars is always money hungry and will probably ask for millions.

Supposedly, Tool is supposed to be working with Red Octane to get one of their songs in GH2. I go a big rubbery one every time I think about it.

The first things I ever taught myself on guitar were Metallica solos, before I even understood scales and chords, going strictly off tabs. I highly doubt Metallica songs would prove a "real guitar hero" unless this is a kids' edition and no one made me aware.
Let's see some Derek Trucks, Jerry Garcia, or Warren Haynes action, then we can start talking. :p

I doubt Zep would ever happen, I would really love to see it though.
I think a Judas Priest song would be awesome!
Some Offspring would be killer too...
For the lighter side of things I think that Heart, Tom Petty (w/ or w/o the Heartbreakers) and The Cars would be fun to play.

Another Guitar Hero thread, another shout out for my preference.
Give me ONE ska song, and make it a fucking fast one, like Less Than Jake or Mustard Plug or something, then we'll see who's the damn guitar hero.

I vote for Aces High.
The world needs more Maiden.
I never got the 1st one, did it have any Yngwie on it?

Alas no...I'd kill for I Am A Viking or Black Star.

That's what I'm hoping. Failing that, Aenema, Sober or Schism. I think many of their best songs are too long to be considered.

I'm just happy Primus and Anthrax are getting love.

I disagree... to an extent. If you can play guitar as well as the bands that made the songs famous in the first place (and I'm sure there are a few gamers who can) then true but if you can't then you can still get a lot out of Guitar Hero.
Then again one of my best mates who is a monster on the guitar (yet to here a single song he can't play perfectly) also enjoys Guitar Hero so go figure.
Anyway did anyone watch the vids? Three fret button strums!
Good to see Harmonix is doing a little more than just adding new songs, albeit there isn't too much you can do to improve on the first game other than add new songs (and mess with the multiplayer of course).

This list needs some zeppelin and dream theater. Metallica's "Disposable Heroes" would be a nice touch. BACK TO THE FRONT!
I'd be pretty surprised with some "Living Lovin Maid" or "Pull Me Under"...

I really want Master of Puppets, Crazy Train (damn), anything by Bullet For My Valentine, Back in Black, and as I said, Alexisonfire.
