id Software has released the new Win32/Linux Quake 4 v1.3 patch, as well as the SDKs, addressing various multiplayer issues brought to id's attention by the community, include a new multiplayer mode, new maps, and new weapon as well as new features and gameplay changes, which will provide a faster, smoother, and more highly competitive experience.
New gametype - DeadZone
New multiplayer weapon - Napalm Launcher
8 new professionally made maps
4 revized maps for additional DeadZone support
"Buy" mode server option that allows you to purchase weapons and equipment.

Anyone out there play Quake 4 multi? I tried a bit, and I thought it was pretty damn good.

I thought it was like Quake ]l[ without the fun. Well, lets be fair, without most of the fun.

This is all very cool, but maybe too little too late...

Indeed, Q4 multiplayer just seemed like Q3A in the Doom 3 engine without the polish. Why I certainly applaud continuing support for the product, this is certainly too little, too late.

Agreed. Which is why it's my favorite MP FPS game since Quake 3 :) . Played it all the time, until my system died on me a month or two ago.

Eh, I hated Q3, but I liked Q2 and Q4. I guess the single player compaign makes a game feel like more of a complete product. Q3 felt like something I should have been able to download for free.

I still play Quake 1 on occasion, so I'm a little old school I guess.
I should really get QTF again. I loved it so..
