GamingNexus has a short interview (http://www.gamingnexus.com/Default.aspx?Section=Article&I=1136) with Brian Clair, Star Dock's Director of Games Publishing about the upcoming expansion pack for Gal Civ 2, Star Dock's new publishing business. The interview also includes this nugget about what Star Dock has planned for the future:

GamingNexus: Where does Galactic Civilizations go from here? Are you considering another expansion pack after this or is it on to Gal Civilizations III/new IP?

Brian Clair: We’re considering doing one more GalCiv II expansion pack after Dark Avatar, if sales do well. Past that we’ll be working on a new fantasy strategy game, The Political Machine 2008 and then Galactic Civilizations III

Definately. It's nice and polished. Lots of things to do and I never really feel like I'm FORCED to go for one kind of victory over another. Plus I spend waaaaay too much time designing my ships :D

I've yet to play the second Gal Civ and I loved the first one. May I never get my hands on the Gal Civ II or I will end up homeless but happy.

The Ship Designer is alone worth the price of GalCiv2. Great stuff.

This looks good, I really enjoyed GalCivII quite a bit and this is a good reason to get back into it once again.
