From Eurogamer (http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=66376)...

Earlier this month the company revealed that the US version of TDU on Xbox 360 would retail for $39.99, but subsequently admitted that the UK price was £49.99 - although actual high street and e-commerce prices will likely fall between £40 and £50.
I was looking forward to this.

I'm just not buying games at £50. From play.com you can almost always get them for £40, but even then I have to be so sure that I'm going to like the game. Especially when I have a good PC, and can just pick up a brand new PC game for £15-£30. (I got Quake4 for £12 from there)

Just get it from Tescos..

All 360 Games in Tesco are £37.99 or less.. I bought my last 4 games from Tesco..

Market conditions my arse. They just figured they can rip us off. They can get to fuck if they think I'll be laying down any money for it at that price when it's cheaper across the pond (£50 = $80)

A slightly more readable, but probably less sense making version of:

Market conditions my arse. They just figured they can rip us off.

That's exactly what "market conditions" means. :(

The thing that worries me the most is that they said that they were dropping the price and making up the difference by selling cars etc on the marketplace. Does this mean that the UK get all the downloads included in the price? I don't think so.

Also, I know you can get 360 games cheaper online and in the supermarkets (it's where I get them from), but that's beside the point. This game will have a RRP of £50 in the UK (not forgetting the rest of Europe) while it's going to be a lot cheaper elsewhere.

Friggin taxes in the UK are just horrid.

It's not really the taxes. 17.5% VAT (Value Added Tax) is okay. It's just that they don't understand the words 'exchange rate'. UK has the most expensive PS3, and we only 60GB.

17% on things you buy?! I think my head just popped, as I would have to work twice as much to afford a game in the UK. But this may also explain why games do not seem to sell as well there... as they are crazily overpriced.

a *foreward* is something that goes before a written passage.

the expression i think is: looking forward.

A *typo* is when my fingers run away with themselves and the mistake isn't obvious enough for me to spot.

I'll fix it now. Thanks for the english lesson.

Oh games sell well, it's just the mass of them are utter shit. Our Top 10 reads like an EA release list. Cars is at number 2, trumper by GTA: LCS. The whole fucking urban and chav thing has a huge impact on it. GTA, Fifa Street, 50 Cent: Bulletproof and every other game like that sells like hot cakes, whereas I couldn't get a copy of We Love Katamari on release. I'm going to buy online from now on.

Thanks man. I can't wait till I hop over the pond. Gaming here is a travesty.

Ouch. That's a lot worse than some of the price differences to Canadian dollars. Thankfully Sony is only going $500 USD - $550 CDN and $600 - $650 on the PS3. When I eventually buy one, I won't be ripped off that bad :p Microsoft had the 360 at $100 difference between USD and CDN, even when our dollar was the highest its been in years.
