Vivendi today announced that Scarface: Power. Money. Respect is coming to the PSP, as a mix of turn based strategy and real time combat, set in 1983 Miami. Wannabe gangstas can rival it out in the story-driven single-player mode or play online through the wireless multiplayer mode with up to 3 other players. Unfortunately there is also bad news as it seems Scarface: The World is Yours for Xbox 360 has been cancelled and now only scheduled for PS2, Xbox and PC.

Check more Scarface: Power. Money. Respect details and screens (http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=35841) over at WorthPlaying.

Scarface was NEVER coming to the Xbox 360 in the first place.

Really? I thought it was.

Oh well. I'd rather they did this than slap together some half-assed texture upgrades.

They do have plans for a sequel on next gen consoles though...no official press releases or anything like that yet...guess they need to get the first game out for starters! :)

Graphically the game looked worse than the original GTA3, it had no business setting foot on a next gen console. Hell, it's a stretch even for current gen. The PSP is where it belongs.

Yeah, a multi-platform title on both the PSP and the 360? Can you imagine how hideous that would be in hi-def?

eh, all they have to do is up the polygon count and the texture resolution for the 360, maybe throw in a few new shader effects. You know, pretty much how EA will handle its sports titles. :p

Was never coming to the 360. I asked the developers myself a few months ago. It will, however, be in 720p on the Xbox version...

What happened to the no-ports policy of Sony?

This game will be awful. It will be another example of movie games getting shafted.

And it will be one of the highest selling PSP games period. Thanks to the odd obsession that hip-hop culture has with the film.

So now we can wait for a game that no one wants to come to a handheld several months later than it's console predecessor. Joy.

It worked for 50 Cent: Bulletproof. Silly rappers!

What happened to the no-ports policy of Sony?

I am thinking the no port policy (although it does seem to be on a case by case basis) pertains to porting older games for the psp, not current releases.

Apparently Sony would not approve the Popolcrois games for psp unless both were packaged together, because they were ports, and I think the same likely happend for Tales of Eternia (it was released in Europe in Febuary, so its already translated, but just got announced for release in NA in October!?

Yet the Psp sees countless ports of current/recent games, such as Tomb Raider Legend, Juiced, blah blah blah Midnight Club, Nfl Street blah blah blah.

It seems Sony just wants to have a cop out to stop oldschool/2D games from being released in NA....

I guess it would be smarter at this point for developers to work with microsoft on a backward patch than create a 360 version out of a xbox original game.

Or Sony doesn't have control over what third party publishers do, and can only control what their first party developers put out...

Well, Sony own the platforms so they make the calls regarding games being approved and licensed.

Looks like the 360 is missing out on all the good shit... I mean first The Sopranos and now Scarface? Where do we get our licensed games that don't make any god damn sense?

They only make the final calls on what games get approved.

That has nothing to do with what Animated said. Sony said that they don't like creating ports, and I don't think Sony has ported any games from PS2 or PS1 to the PSP. All of them have come from third parties.

I guess they could tell the third parties they don't want to put out the port, but that would probably be bad for business.

What the hell? Is it reallly that hard to port over the Xbox version of Scareface, swap in some hi-res textures, and throw it out the door as the 360 version? I mean, you'd think the sales new games on a new platform enjoy would be reason enough alone to push out a 360 version ... justs seems odd, to me.
