Just wanted to let everyone know (like you didn't know already) the site is running extremely, unbearably, horribly slow.
We know too! (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15580)
I pulled every punch in my penguin arsenal to no avail as it did not help. Now, it is in the hands of...*gasp* Tech Support!!!
Good thing it's the weekend...don't panic yet!

I hadn't noticed. Then again, I'm on dialup for a few more days until I get back from Minnesota.
Now, I'm just waiting for the Submit button to load... There it is! It says 'Post'

There seems to be a lot of slowness on the net yesterday and today. I have been having trouble getting to a lot of different sites (yahoo, amazon, etc.). I am thinking that some bloke is doing a denial of service attack on the net - slowing down everyone.

I've been having no more problems than usual with internet access. Amazon, Rangers FC, Yahoo!, etc. are all loading speedily for me. So far as I can tell, it's only EvAv that's been affected for me. That said, there has been a little speed gain in the last hour or so...

To quote Douglas Adams: DON'T PANIC!
It's slow, but not down. All is not lost.

Seems like Hackers may be on the loose lately, I've noticed a lot of people are bitching about their MySpaces being deleted and it's a huge problem for them right now. YouTube is on downtime as well. What the hell is going on?

Cogent, Savvis, and Level 3 are all experiencing some latency problems. Looks like those tubes are filling up with personal internets! :D

EDIT: oops - I should actually have said that they are experiencing some 'network availability' issues, NOT latency problems. However, the XO backbone DOES appear to now be experiencing latency issues. What's going on?

What we need to do is clear the internet tubes with horse racing and gambling...

Phew. It was running rather slow yesterday but it wasn't just EvAv. Blogger and a few other sites were also kind of sluggy. I blame the sun and its intolerable heat for causing nasty stuff to happen on the West Coast.

We're back, but now there's critical network availability issues across many of the internet backbones. Must be the heat. Either that, or EvAv has shifted its problems evenly amongst all the ISPs across the nation. =D

I'm sorry. I spilled coffee on the internet and it got into the tubes. Gotta get the dump truck in to cart all that gunk away.

The Internet is not something you just dump something on. It's not a big truck. It's, it's a series of tubes. I just the other day got, an internet was sent by my staff at 10 o'clock in the morning on Friday and I just got it yesterday. Why?
Because it got tangled up with all these things going on the internet commercially.

Wouldnt be suprised to hear it was a bad NIC, or screwed up routing table. Thats what the symptoms showed anyways...
