Eidos has announced that IO Interactive will be working on a new title, Kane & Lynch: Dead Men (http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/11440/Eidos-Unveils-Kane-Lynch-Dead-Men/). According to the article, the game will feature a "flawed mercenary and a medicated psychopath -- and their brutal attitude towards right and wrong".
Kane & Lynch: Dead Men is a violent and chaotic journey of two men -- a flawed mercenary and a medicated psychopath -- and their brutal attitude towards right and wrong. This volatile partnership combined with innovative technologies allow for an unparalleled gaming experience.
I'm really interested to see where IO Interactive takes this. I was really impressed with Blood Money, and Freedom Fighters was a damn good game. They've shown themselves to be a fantastic developer, so I'm already looking forward to this title

Didn't really get into Hitman, but Freedom Fighters was the shit. It came out of nowhere and really left a lasting impression on me.

No problem.
I'm anxious to play this, especially after Freedom Fighters.

This is also the cover story in this month's Game Informer for those of you that get that. Sounds like a cool game, and hopefully they deliver.

Yeah, it's actually starting to bother me :) . I hope some of the games I'm looking forward to disappoints so that I don't need to play them all. Haven't got the time for that much gaming.

It looks decent enough in the new Game Informer. My thing is why does Edios get a hard on for the name Kain/Kane. Speaking of the devil, where is a new Legacy game.

Sounds generic as hell.
It is but they put so much effort in to making it not sound that way. Basically it sounds like you are one guy, and this other npc can fuck up stuff you planning. I would shoot a npc like that in the head at the start. More or less taking control from you. You likes that.
Although if you look at it he is dynamic in throwing shit at you, you don't want like any level. <shrug>

I'm not so sure. First of all, I get the feeling we're going to get some Hitman style coop action, although that's just kind of conjecture. AI partners could be awesome if done right. I mean, I'm looking forward to Double Agent, and that's supposed to have some of that same shit. I've got some faith here.
Hitman sounds generic too, and in execution, it's an incredible game.

Kinda looks like the same engine as Blood Money as well.

Kinda sounds totally generic and 'whoa there's a crazy guy and you gotta make due and kick some ass' fucking terrible buddy movie. They may as well pack it in with a copy of the 'Bon Cop/Bad Cop' dvd.

Well I'm really interested in the idea of a flawed mercenary and a medicated psychopath -- and their brutal attitude towards right and wrong. In the article they describe a feature where there is a flawed mercenary and a medicated psychopath -- and their brutal attitude towards right and wrong. I hope that a flawed mercenary and a medicated psychopath -- and their brutal attitude towards right and wrong works out to exciting gameplay. After all, what else is there to talk about, other than a flawed mercenary and a medicated psychopath -- and their brutal attitude towards right and wrong?

Blame the editor. I originally just posted that little quote, and then fitbabits added the full quote in..uh...quotes :)

It reminds me of Heat for some reason, and Resivor Dogs. It also said it will have co-op, not sure about online co-op, but it's IO, lets give them the benifit of the doubt.
From what I read... this game is more Freedom Force than Hitman, and that... I am quite fine with.

Yeah...I really don't get why people are so down on this immediately after the announcement. We really have nearly no details. All we have to go on is IO's pretty fantastic track record. I mean, I may have rose colored glasses because I just finished Blood Money (The Requiem scene was fucking GREAT) but I have a faith in IO.

Love the Hitman franchise, never heard of this Freedom Fighters business. I'll definitely keep an eye on this one though, despite the overabundance of "flawed mercenaries and medicated psychopaths -- and their brutal attitudes towards right and wrong".

Heh. You act like these games didn't exist for 20 years. Everyone got tired of them. People just have short memories.

Yeah but now it's time for a mix of games. Now we can't have a hero. It's all about playing as the villian or an anti-hero.

Psychonauts. Perfect Dark Zero. Kameo. Brothers in Arms. The Outfit. Final Fantasy X+X-2. Prince of Persia (Sands of Time), probably Dead Rising (he's just a journalist, turned hero), Lego Star Wars, Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts 2, .Hack, (I've never played it, but I'm guessing the protagonist of Silent Hill typically tends to be innocent), Resident Evil 4, Beyond Good and Evil, Any Zelda, Metroid Prime 1/2.
I'm sure the list is bigger than that. There is a mix. Personally, I find the classic good guy kills the villains trite. I like characters that operate in shades of grey. Sam Fischer for instance.

Is this like a next-gen version of Ecks & Sever? If it is, I don't want it.
