Good Morning! (And if I don't see you: Good Afternoon, Good Evening and Goodnight!)

I don't do a lot of "Pure Evil" editorials any more, but when a fun game like NinjaBee's (http://www.ninjabee.com/) Cloning Clyde comes out I have to say something. Cloning Clyde is an action/platformer/puzzle game similar to the old school Lemmings, where you have to rescue poor Clyde (and his dozens of clones) from a crazy lab.

This title is available NOW via the Xbox 360's Live Arcade. Give it a shot (there is a free demo), you won't be sorry.

I thought it was OK but nothing special. I think if you are a big platformer/puzzle fan you'll enjoy it, but I just got this whole "I've done this before" feeling from the game.

I loved Lemmings 2: The Tribes, and this is a nice throwback to that gameplay.

Did you get to make a Chicken-Man or a Sheep-Man? Those were clever little characters.

The demo made it seem really linear. In lemmings, sure, you had to get to the same place, but there was usually more than one way to do it, which is where the fun came in, at least for me.

The dna combiner was inconsistant, as well. I can't combine with a boulder to become rockman, because a boulder doesn't have dna, but I can combine with a barrel of TNT? Umm, ok, whatever.

I kinda regret buying this. I've only played like the first 2 levels so far, but it's been pretty boring. I might give it another shot down the road, but for now I think I'll be spending my arcade time with Galaga.

Lemmings brought forth a sense of urgency in its puzzle solving, something I feel Cloning Clyde was lacking. I’m a huge fan of puzzle games, but the hybrid platform-puzzlers still feel foreign to me.

I hear ya, seems like the moment any XBLA game comes out, all I read here is "Buy this right now!!!". Its kinda like when Rag Doll Kung Fu came out on Steam, the first week everyone was excited, a week later it was "ok".

I thought it had great presentation but I couldn't make myself interested in it to save my life. I was going to buy it right away, but with some foresight I decided to try the demo first and it turned out to be a good idea. I liked it, but I felt like it was a 2d platformer with almost nothing to it. I didn't even feel like it would ever be all that challenging.

I was left amused but unimpressed overall. For $5 maybe, but not $10.

i wish it was more like lemmings:

you should be able to make as many clyde clones as you want/need. too many times I figured out the puzzles by knowing the number of clones I had.. if they only give you 3 clones, you have to be able to do it... had they given you more clones I might have been more frustrated/creative...

you should have been able to give clones stuff to do like in lemmings...

Downloaded demo when it came out, deleted within 7 minutes.

I acutally liked the demo, but sadly I saw this as another example of overcharging for XBL content. It would have been an instant purchase at $5 or even $7, but I just didn't see the value at $10.

was very excited about this game, and was compleltely drained of my enthusiasm after finishing the demo. back to lemmings psp.

It's a fun game that really only gets interesting during the last levels then ends, damn shame. Co-op is a blast, flinging rocks at each other takes precident over puzzles though :p

I'm thinking that a small part of the problem is that you guys are comparing it to an entirely wrong game.

Other than the fact that the clones drop out of a box, it has very little to do with Lemmings...and far more in common with the old Oddworld games.
Granted, this won't do much to sway your opinions of the game...but it could possibly help prevent a handful of people from getting the wrong pre-purchase/play impression.

I had a good time with this. It only took about 8 hours to 100% the game and collect all 200 points (all clones escaped, all collectibles acquired, all time limits beaten), but it was a great ride getting there.

$1.25 an hour? That's cheap entertainment.

I liked it.
It has a Lost Vikings vibe to me.
It's a bit expensive, but only about $2.00 so.

Yeah, I don't understand the Lemmings reference, and it is a lot more like Lost Vikings.

Either way, it's kind of "meh".

No purchase here, not even for $5.

Why should you? You sit upon your evil throne of blood made of baby goat skins surveying your vast evil empire! You have peons to do the dirty work! :P

I got 100% as well but didn't take me that long. It was pretty fun while it lasted. I got the mutant clyde earlier then I should have since I rushed through the game and it made all other levels super simple after that.

I was very disappointed that there was no 100% completed achievment. I got all other achievments before I even beat the game.

I liked it but it wasn't worth 10 bucks. 5-7... yes but not 10

I enjoyed the demo to make this my first XBLA purchase, even at $10 which is overpriced. One of my main reasons for buying it though, is that I will continue to support any company that comes out with good 2D platformers. Anything I can do to make the suits at Konami finally make another good Castlevania game for the home consoles (hint: if it's in 3D, it will suck).

When I saw the name Clyde, I wondered immediately if Moonlite Software's Clyde series was gaining another entry after a decade gap or so.

Guess not. :(

I bought it and have enjoyed it. My kids enjoy all the goofy versions and mutations of Clyde. It's a cool little game, but I agree $10 may be a little too much for it. I've enjoyed it though.

Yep, I'm with you there. $5 or even $7 is worth it. There really should be a cap on the XBL content pricing. Nothing should be more than $10 and we know that Lumines Live is going to blow those doors right off.

You know what we need on Live Arcade? WORMS. I'd buy that baby in a heartbeat, not this other junk they keep popping on the Marketplace. Worms against other members would be awesome.

I just read on Penny Arcade today that there will be a version of Alien Hominid (in widescreen) coming soon to Xbox Live.

I peed a little.

And, yes, we need WORMS.

I'd say the first few levels are very basic. The puzzles get wacky/more fun as the game progresses, at least for my money.

Errr, isn't there a new title from the developer of Alien Hominid coming as well (to the 360)? I swore there was a screenshot preview posted to EA in the last two weeks for it.

Ha, now that I'd play! Although, I liked their game Hocus Pocus better.

This game just didn't grab me. Same with their other game--Outpost....er Outpost Somethingorother.

Yeah Outpost Kobuki or something. Terrible name. So bad, I didn't even bother downloading the demo.

Worms, huh? What a completely *random* game to pull out. Why mention Worms? Or is it because people equate Clyde to Lemmings (which is completely silly, since they're 2 completely different games)?

I didn't like Cloning Clyde, but I didn't like Wik either; I'm not the biggest platform-fan around, though I must say I enjoy Abe and his Oddworld!
