Wired's Game|Life blog (http://blog.wired.com/games/#1527609) has the upcoming release schedule for the DS. Sadly, it looks like Phantom Hourglass is being pushed back to 2007 -- but there's certainly enough goodness for me.
Oct. 9: Clubhouse Games(TM)
Oct. 16: Nintendogs(TM) (Dalmatian)
Oct. 23: Magical Starsign(TM)
Oct. 30: Pokemon(R) Ranger
Oct. 30: Children of Mana(R)
Nov. 6: Elite Beat Agents(TM)
Nov. 13: Yoshi's Island(TM) 2
Dec. 4: Custom Robo(TM) Arena
Dec. 4: Kirby(TM) Squeak Squad

Hmm, can't say I'm interested in any of the titles on that list. I just got a DS not too long ago though so my knowledge of games coming out isn't as up-to-date as it could be.
I'm still waiting for Nintendogs: German Shepherd [Baby killer edition]

Magical Starsign, Children of Mana, and Yoshi's Island 2 all look to be solid titles. I am more interested in Mega Man ZX though, personally.

Children of Mana and Yoshi's Islands are both must buys for me and Kirby is a big potential buy. But where is Star Fox on that list? Is it even sooner than October?

Is Pokemon Ranger an actual Pokemon game like the GBA games of old. The DS needs a real Pokemon game, not that crap like Troizie or that Pokemon branded dungeon game.

Just so you know: Elite Beat Agents = American version of Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan, easily one of the best games ever made for the DS.
In fact, EBA is a whole new game (since it has new characters, songs, stage layouts and so on. No need to worry about losing its Japanese flair though; it's being produced by Inis too)

Ah good to know about Star Fox, I was curious as to why it wasn't on the list as well (my short attention span didn't let me remember its release date even though I'm pretty sure it's been posted way more than once in various places here).
A little bit of research told me two important things:
1) Children of Mana is related to Secret of Mana! Kick ass, I loved that game!
2) Yoshi's Island 2 seems to have a pretty similar art style to its SNES prequel (I was thinking that this game was just some sort of re-release), which is also kick ass!
I need to look into these other games now, buying a DS was one of the best purchases I've made in a long time.

I so hope EBA keeps that unique... weirdness of Ouendan. There was just something hilarious about a secretary yelling "OUENDAN!!!" Then out of nowhere, three big japanese guys rush in and start dancing.
For those wondering: The game is even weirder than I make it out to be. The last stage however is just hilarious. Lost so many times just looking up and saying "Wtf? Why is a horse standing in a squat position and punching?" or something along that line."

Nov. 6: Elite Beat Agents(TM)
i cant wait for this game, the import is extremely fun but my only concern is if they will keep the songs in the US version that was in the import :(

Nope, all new songs. American songs, as far as I have heard.

Nothing about Contact from Grasshopper Manufacture (makers of Killer 7)? Everything I've read about it is very positive. Should be out in September.

There's a video on Youtube showing Walkie Talkie Man as one of the stages.
There are 4 games on that list that I am really looking forward to, not to mention Final Fantasy 3 and Pokemon Diamond/Pearl.

The game I look forward to is New Zealand Story. I thought it was coming this year, but unfortunatly it doesn't look like it will. It will certainly bring back some good memories from my C64 period.

It's ALL about the OOOUUUEEEENNNNDDDDAAAANNN!!!! for me. Elite Beat Agents does look like being a very good take on the formula in it's own right. Just hope the stories are suitably preposterous.
Ouendan is the best game on the DS, no doubt in my mind.

The DS makes me a poor man. Even at the 35$ price, I can't afford all the games I want. :(

StarFox

I'm a DS junkie but other than Children of Mana I'm not looking forward to many of those others. At least, they are not on my most-wanted list. Things may change as I read more about them and the release dates near.

This thread is misleading. In the future, please mention that this lists NINTENDO published titles ONLY. This does not include 3rd party published titles, among which are the Final Fantasy 3 Remake and Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin (both in October, incidentally probably the top 2 titles for the DS this year), and many others. Therefore, the statement that this is the "upcoming release schedule for the DS" is completely false.

Ah, Inis is supervising everything about EBA so you've gotta give it to them... what kind of zaniness they might bring Stateside? We've already seen the homebound Pug and the neurotic movie director (with "Highway Star" and "Walkie Talkie Man" on the soundtrack, respectively).
And there's Livin' La Vida Loca too. Seriously, can't wait to play this one.

I'm suprised none of you mentioned that the Wii launch date is hidden somewhere in the release.
It's pretty easy to spot if you look hard enough.

Cooking Mama (DS) is out in Sept. (Got it preordered.)
BTW, Play Asia has Children of Mana (Japan version, region free) for $19. You should be able to find some translation papers easy.

Too much work for a game that requires reading. I don't want to play, put down to look at a printed paper, then play more. It ruins the flow of a game, more than cutscenes already do.

Contact is being published by Atlus and not Nintendo. This is stricly a Nintendo release schedual. One that happens to have the Wii release date hidden in the PR.

I thought that too at first, but then I RTFA and was horrified to see this:
Final Fantasy III looks like it's bumped (http://blog.wired.com/games/index.blog?entry_id=1527572) , and now The Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass (http://www.nintendo.com/gamemini?gameid=0nKucR8rpyfV9ktby3s-Kv1_UlMI5P5a) for Nintendo DS might be getting moved to 2007.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Eh... guess it's just as well since Children of Mana would conflict with FFIII anyway.

If I remember correctly, there are lots of other games coming such as Final Fantasy III, Mechwarior, and Legend of Zelda: Phanton Hourglass. Does anyone have a complete DS release schedule?

Yeah, I know the DS will have a great fall. That list is a good one, but not one I'm overly eager about. I'll probably end up owning most of them someday, though.

And what is this Magical Star Sign everybody is excited about?

Elite Beat Agents and Yoshi's Island 2 are both must buys for anyone who owns a DS and likes to have fun with thier videogames.
I figured the Wii would probably come out in late november, like everyone else, this is just more fuel to the fire. When do stores start taking preorders?!? This is the first console I am going to be dumb enough to buy at launch.

Yoshi's Island was the best platformer ever made? I wasn't aware of that. :) Is that the one with the baby Mario bros.?
I still adore Mario World, and Mario 3, above all others. And for 3D we have Mario 64. I disliked Sunshine, but Mario 64 was amazing. I still need to grab that for DS someday.

I am with you, Mega Man ZX is the next DS title I am really stoked about.

Where are you guys buying Ouendan? Is there any place that sells it cheaper than $48? I normally get my imports through play asia, but I was just wondering if there was a better source.

I bought one in mint condition on eBay, but that seller (tokyotempleartist, or something close enough to this) no longer has it as cheap as I paid for. Anyway, it's worth checking.
