Okay, time for the top of the hour news:
Siliconera has 30 some screenshots of the made-for-Japanese arcade shooter Half Life 2: Survivor (http://www.siliconera.com/2006/07/18/half-life-2-survivor-screenshots/) by Taito.
The original game environment seems to be intact, though wayward arrow pointers have been plastered all over and glitzy purple exclamation points sit atop of supply crates. There's also evidence of a custom-built multiplayer mode with a pick-up of what looks to be a diamond-cut emerald. Extra points?

You've got to admit, it's very Japanse.

Awesome. I bet it's similar to the original version except instead of traveling in a buggy to find groups of AI to shoot at, then move on(and repeat), they now probably pop up more often in random increments. Because with that AI, don't make me travel around so much.
Probably more fun to be had.

Is that the normal controller scheme for a Japanese arcade shooter? Looks like some kind of mecha game with the dual controllers and pedals.

Looks pretty cool. The Japanese will know the usefullness of a crowbar soon enough.

I think it looks awesome. I dig all the alterations for the arcade. I wonder how much one of these machines would cost to purchase? ;)

Hurrah for someone trying to make an FPS appeal to the Japan market.
You've got to admit, it's very Japanse.
Hence, it looks like ass.

I also think it looks pretty cool. I prefer my Half Life straight up, but I think it would be pretty rad to give one of those machines a try.

I wonder if you can upgrade the cpu and graphics card. Does it have keyboard and mouse support?

Reminds me of the Quake arcade machine mixed with Time Crisis or something

and how long is it going to take for a HL2 mod of this to come out. I am guessing 8 months from release date.

Looks kinda shitty, like a bad mod. That could just be because I'm so familiar with the original version. Also, like the olden days, I was expecting the graphics to be far superior to the home version and these aren't quite up to snuff.

I haven't been able to get the site to load, is there another site hosting these images?
