World of Gothic (http://www.worldofgothic.com/) has posted on their site this rumor:
In a game magazine (PC Power Play August 06) and at GOCOO-Homepage (http://www.gocoo.de/gocoo_taiko_e.htm) it is said that the game will be released on the 13rd of October.

On the other hand Jowood and Piranha Bytes made no official statement on the matter.

GOCOO is the Taiko drummers that provide some of the music for Gothic 3.

If this is true, 3rd quarter release was pushed back to early 4th quarter release. A firmative date should be coming soon.

I checked out the GOCOO English website and didn't see it listed, but it maybe only on the German site.

Whenever it comes out, I'll be ready!! :) The Gothic series rock :) Gothic 2 is very good, especially with the Night of the Raven expansion :)

Your post is being cited for having an excess of smilies (3). You are altogether too happy. Take an Ambien and have a nice day.

Just kidding. You know, I really never could get into the second Gothic, so I'm having a hard time understanding the hype for this one.

I'm now thinking I should have upgraded my PC instead of buying a 360. GODDAMNIT. This mini PC renaissance is started to truly rock.

I can't wait till this fall. Plenty of overtime, so plenty of money to get a new PC.

I think this will be the first game to take advantage of said PC I will buy. I didn't upgrade for Oblivion, and as of now, upgrading is pointless. New PC time.

Haha, that was funny :)
The threshold for getting into Gothic 2 can be high as it can be very difficult, especially in the beginning. In my opinion it's worth the initial struggle though! :)
Oh, and another smiley for good measure :)

I am glad I did upgrade my PC instead of buying a 360. Its definitely paying off.

No problem if Gothic 3 gets delayed!

The Piranhas can take all the time they need. Make it as good as you possibly can. What's a few more months wait when you've waited so many years for the greatest game of all time :)

I'll be all over this if the controls don't blow as much as they did in Gothic 2. I thought the game itself was really damn cool, but omfg did that control suck.

As we have said in most post - THE CONTROLS HAVE BEEN FIXED for the American audience. Even Oct 13 gives them a month to push it back before holiday season if they need to fix any major bugs.

"fixed for the American audience" :)

The controls needed no fixing but they have been dumbed down for the lazy whiners who can't spend a few minutes to figure out a good and effective controlling system. Luckily the good old Gothic controls have been made available as an option for us Gothic veterans. The new system is on by default.

Token American here, I never had a problem with Gothic's control scheme. In fact I liked it.

I'm glad the old controls are still in

Seconded. It took some getting used to, but I only needed to use the keyboard, for the most part, and sometimes could go through areas using one hand.

Hopefully they'll still support the default Gothic control scheme. I actually liked that layout. Made a little more sense. There was definitely no need for a mouse in that game.

I remember my first review of Gothic 1 - I hated the controls! But the more I played the game, the more I enjoyed what I could do. By the end, I had to admit that the controls were good, just hard to learn. The new controls will be the default, but you can go to the old controls as an option. And Gothic two was not easy to begin with. There were a lot of first challenges - some you had to run from in fact. But it was fun, and sticking with it, you were well rewarded.

You can find it on the English website. In the news section, right here:

First info at the top, last paragraph.

"for those of you who can't get enough of GOCOO: on october 13 the videogame GOTHIC 3 will finally be released. GOCOO contributed to the soundtrack which can be purchased separately. there will be soon offered a MP3 for download on this website"

My bad - I obviously read it too quickly.
