Galaga FTW!

I am looking forward to giving Final Destination 3 a rent. The first two were pretty fun and are the only horror movies that my wife will actually watch repeatedly. She thinks they're funny.

Of course, the big temptations for me are the Animaniacs and Pinky & The Brain sets. Must... try... to... save... money!

And Miami Vice actually looks interesting. I was never into the show back in the day but my curiousity is piqued by the movie. The fact that the same guy who did the show is behind the movie will hopefully give it a coherence of vision that most movie remakes of 80's shows lack.

no 360 games AND only two ps2 games released this week, while xbox has three? dead platform indeed lol.

Aw crap! I forgot about that one.

The guys at work will actually be VERY happy to hear about this as they have been working their way through the entire Nancy Drew opus game by game.

Thankfully there is another staff who actually enjoys playing these games with them. I have been spoiled by too many good adventure games and just can't stand the Myst-like style used in those Nancy Drew games. Bleh.

I don't think ANY of them are the better for this week's games aside from the PC and Civ IV's expansion for it. And that's a maybe. The only winning platform this week is the DVD player.

oh I totally agree with you spigot, it's a total whiff of a week all around, I think galaga on xbla is at least a strong second.

I saw Final Destination 3, and while I enjoyed the first two, this one was really boring. Also, all the special effects (ALL OF THEM) were (bad) CGI. No good special effects here, it ruined all the fun this type of movie has to offer.

Civ IV Warlords FTW.

I do hope CivCity ends up being something decent, i know for a fact that i'll be picking up Warlords. (I have never stopped playing Civ IV)

Otherwise, not that much.

You might want to read this interview with Mann, Foxx, Farrell, Gong Li and Naomie Harris about the making of the movie and that exact point. It's long, but a good read into what the movie will contain. There aren't really any spoilers, but read at your own risk anyway.

It's all about Michael Mann. Sure he did the original show, but looking up his past films and you see "Heat", "The Last of the Mohicans", "The Insider" and "Collateral" and suddenly, you realize this is going to be an incredible film.

I've got to wait a month and a half for Tekken, so nothing good for me this week.

Wow, of those 4 films I've seen and LOVED 3 of them. Maybe I should be checking out The Insider...

So Pinky and Animaniacs get a mention, but nothing for Season 1 of Boondocks? Fantastic show.

Collateral is in my top five of all time, so you can bet your fuckin' ass I'll be at Miami Vice on opening night.

I really enjoyed Boondocks, but I don't find it very rewatchable- to my mind, so much of the show's appeal is based on surprising and provocative humor that it doesn't have the same impact on a second viewing.

Animaniacs episodes, like the best of the original Warner Bros. shorts, have the kind of highly distilled silliness that's every bit as funny the fiftieth time around. Can't wait to pick up the set...

Boondocks, Season 1 will be the uncensored version and will also have extra scenes that were cut from some of the episodes. I'll snag it on Wednesday.

Phew, I'm glad Miami Vice is coming out so I won't have to see the preview in front of every movie I go to!! :p

A Civ IV expansion? I haven't even bought the game yet. :( Oh well, I'll be picking it up next year after I get a Mac. Can't wait - I love the Civ series.

Damn, no love for Boondocks?

"Naw, they gon call you Bitches, cuz you gonna have so many!"

Man I love that show, and I will definately be picking up the DVD.

Nobody even mentioned that Painkiller is Finally going to come out...either nobody cares anymore, or they just assume it will be delayed again.

Anyone try Summon Night: Swordcraft Story yet? It looks like a Tales of Symphonia type game for the GBA.

Boondocks the show has a nice flavor to it that differs from the comic strip... I like them both for different reasons. DVD is a must-buy, I haven't missed any of the new Adult Swim DVD's yet.
