Ubisoft (http://www.ubi.com/) has posted word (http://www.ghostrecon.com/) of a second map pack being released in the next month for the PC verison of GRAW. In addition two screenshots from the upcoming pack have been posted at the official site.

Today we're releasing more information about the GRAW PC Map Pack #2. See below for 2 screenshots, each detailing a new game mode that will be added with the map pack. Additionally, this map pack will implement the death cam, a feature showing you how you died and who shot you, and allowing you to see the game through the remaining players. This pack is still in development, aiming for a release at the end of July or beginning of August.
Thanks to Worthplaying (http://www.worthplaying.com/) for the tip. (http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=35677&mode=thread&order=0)

Shhh, Everlost! Some folks haven't downloaded Chapter 2 yet, which makes GRAW night a challenge.

BTW, I owe you one for capping me with a damn pistol when I was getting ready to pull the trigger on Random! :D

Well if this one will be free AGAIN, and Ubi charges for the 360 equivalent AGAIN, then they can kiss my ass AGAIN.

Man, I love Ubi Soft, I really do. But you can't seriously tell me, if you're a fan of GRAW on the 360, that you're pleased with the fact that they're putting out content packs for free on the PC while charging a fortune for them on the 360. That's a bit upsetting, isn't it?

I'm still deciding on whether I should purchase Chapter 2 or not. Now more maps? They better be free.

I thought there was a premium for the PC add-ons as well (the ones from Ubisoft, that is)? If the PC is getting the same content as the Xbox 360's Chapter 2 for free, then I understand your frustration or annoyance. In fact, I would share in it!

The last content pack that they put out for PC (the one that came out the same time as Chapter 2 on 360) was free.

But did it contain the same content as Chapter 2? That's what I really want to know. I don't mind them releasing content for the PC for free as that's been what has has happened historically. However, if they are releasing the same on both formats (PC and 360) and charging for one and not for the other, then that's bogus.

To clarify - I knew when I bought the 360 I would be expected to pay for premium content. That's something I'm willing to live with. However, on the PC, I'm used to getting the content for free, so I'd be more pissed if I had to pay for little things like additional maps given that I haven't in the past.

It's not the same exact content, obviously, because the games are not exactly the same.

It IS, however, a comparable amount of content. The PC content actually had more NEW multiplayer maps, rather than some "relit" horse shit.

Ah, then I'm pissed. Ubisoft can suck my left baw while Sony suck on my right one.

isnt it kind of strange to bitch about paying money for content packs on a system where the whole purpose is to use the marketplace. pc gaming had always considered this stuff as "patches" = fixing bugs and adding a map & or mod & or weapon should never ever have been considerd moneyworthy. of course if there are enough "fools" to pay for stuff that had been "promised" by a game on its initial launch, keep that $ rolling. but considering that they have even been to cheap to release standalone servers, deliver on added coop support (wow i can play all single player missions coop after 3 patches ...) and much more, why would anyone spend more money on this ? ... oh yeah marketplace

Microsoft made it easy for them to bill you for this stuff on 360, so of course they're doing it. All of that bothersome billing stuff is now taken care of by Microsoft, so Ubi can slap a price on anything and float it the marketplace.

it's not really the same stuff. it's more like the pc version is trying to catch up with the 360 version. i think the first "map pack" for the pc added in domination. the online compotent of the pc is/was severly lacking compared to the 360, which is one reason i sold my pc copy and bought a copy for my 360. however i still haven't bought chapter 2 or whatever it's called. i just can't make myself believe it's worth it.

i keep thinking that pc gamers would find it laughble if ubi had tried to sell the map pack(s) to them, but i've bought both addons for bf2.

I was looking for an old download link for the first map pack for a re-install and came up on this and couldent help but regester to post cause you guys (all but the guy above me) are way off on this thing.

GRAW PC is yes as has been mentioned an entierly different game. The multiplayer was not complete when they shiped it. UBIsoft knew they were in hot water with the PC gamers due to them some how getting red storm to lower itself to console standards. Understand I mean no offence by this but the xbox is old, and when Raven-Shield came out for the PC and then again for the xbox a year later the version for the box was imensly lowered and different and sort of raped from what we have come to expect of Clancy.

Lock down was even worse because instead of keeping the bs to the consoles they let it spred to PC which to many gamer's eyes killed the series right then and there. GR and R6 have allways been strategy type games first above all else and its porting to consoles seemed to remove that aspect for us since I guess they figured the console market was a bunch of immature kiddies or something, which I have a lot of freinds who are console gamers primarily and I wouldent be so quick to call them kiddies, but then again I'm guessing most console gamers dont know of what the first Rainbow Six 3 was on the PC and there for have not been updated to the standards we held Clancy to.

Another issue was Red Storm's holding of GR2. Ghost Recon was a HUGE release on the PC, infact it was one of the games that made UBIsoft what it is today. To skip over the PC on it pissed a lot of people off but it also showed that UBIsoft didnt give a rats ass about us, and Red Storm showed us that they were to much of a bunch of lazy fucks to make another game that would have the attention to detail that we expected of them.

GRIN, which I dont know their history, did a fair job of making a PC version of GRAW, but they fucked up on a lot of the things that Red Storm had previously been champs at. They made the AI very micromanaged and they made the enemy AI very good which put the player at a huge despositon in a situation that involved the check point save system (which most PC gamers hate, I think its actualy good in the terms of it forces me to actualy do something other than move a little bit, save, reload, and so on which dosent feel like I am using much skill). The biggest issue they had was a rush to release it in may. They shiped it with a mostly finished SP dispite AI issues and a horribly incomplete multiplayer. They also got rid of the Mature rating and the blood and gore which the first GR exelled at which pissed me off but it was one of the smaller issues with the game anyhow.

The MP had 5 maps originaly, and the map pack that first came out added 3 death match maps which is a usless function anyhow. Admins cant control the server by kicking and banning people or changing maps or anything but starting it up and the new map pack you are talking about only released 3 more maps and a team death match mode that is basic shit for any game pretty much (and hamburger hill). Another thing that realy sucked ass was that fact that there is only six primary weapons and four seccondary weapons. You console gamers got much more than that and much more maps as well, not to mention game types and such.

GRIN's map packs they are releasing and patches as well are just part of finishing the game they under releaseded. They said so themselves, also saying that if they had finished the game first it wouldent be out till fall, which in retrospect they should have waited till they had done a lot more testing so they wouldent have been beaten shitless in the reviews for the game. So before you start bitching about how it aint fair, know this, you have an expansion pack out allready... we dont even have a full game. Which is a lot of bullshit considering that GR was one of the biggest PC games and that RVS still has hundreds of players online dispite being over three years old.
