Gamespot (http://www.gamespot.com) have the first peek at the new professions that will be introduced in the latest chapter of the Guild Wars saga. You can check it out HERE (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/guildwarscampaign3/news.html?sid=6154159)

Nightfall has actually begun its beta test, and ArenaNet plans to hold an "open house" for current Guild Wars players between July 28 and 30. You'll be able to check out this new chapter yourself, as well as create characters based on the two new professions in Nightfall. And without further delay, we have the details on what you'll be able to play as. If ArenaNet sticks to its six-month publishing schedule for chapters, then we should see Nightfall ship later this year.

Anyone looking forward for the "open house" ??

Funny how GW just totally captured me, Factions convinced me to buy it but has completely failed to keep me playing, and now this is just... news. Little more. It was great that first few months, but it sadly ended fast.

Going back and playing a bit of GW, the original quest still seems funner than Factions. The art seemed much better too, the original character designs blow away my rather bland and lackluster Assassin. The curves, they are gone. I was expecting character design like the box art, honestly... something totally doable by the art team.

In this set, not only does it seem like an elementalist with a new outfit, the female's neck is just incredibly long.

I also found factions to be a major letdown. I even know why.
The game world is too big, meaning that you as a player waste a lot of time running around. The plot unveils so slowly that I cannot even for certain say if there is a plot as the afore mentioned running has prevented me from playing this game for any meaningful amount of time. Another full priced expansion? I think not for this cowboy.

yeah, factions wasn't that great. supposedly, the same team that worked on prophecies has worked on nightfall, so I'm hoping for a better game this time around.

Guild Wars was okay, I even enjoyed playing factions, but it just doesn’t have what it takes to hold my attention Like WoW's 1-59 game did. (Yes Draft I said something positive about WoW. :P ) I really don't see me investing yet another 50.00 into GW, not unless it brought something completely new and unique to the Table.

Meh, I really look forward to this boosting my 2k hours played even higher. I have slowed down my playing recently with Chromehounds and more RTS love (I'm playing through Age of Mythology again).

The world and story are actually much smaller than Prophecies. Just Prophecies' was much more involving. The faction story line is a grind until after Boreas Seabed. Then it gets fun. But there are a few missions that you hae to force yourself through ( Arborstone!).

Also I think that this world seems a much better theme. So far it seems to be North African- Middle Eastern. The Asian them was fun at first but cities and paths got confusing by trying to make them narrow and tight like Kelegacy's... I mean Chinese cities. Then when it slit into German Gothic style and, uh, hippy style I got really confused. Nothing to do with "Asian themed continent".

I think I might get Nightfall, mainly because I've held off on Factions
