From a press release that was sent out yesterday by Nintendo (http://press.nintendo.com/articles.jsp?id=9926) -

Nintendo DS Download Stations at all Toys "R" Us stores nationwide will allow fans to download exclusive Mario-themed items: 1-up mushroom, star, fire bar, goal flag, question box and pipe. The items are sure to add character to any Animal Crossing player's house and, more importantly, make all of their "guests" wildly jealous of their mushroom-chic design skills.
Must... Resist... Actually, I haven't played it in a little while. I wonder what's happening in my town...

Would it look silly for an adult to wander into Toys R Us, flip open his DS Lite, hang around like a pedophile, and then leave? Because that's what I'll be doing next week.

If it's silly Zach, I will be silly.

After five straight months of nonstop AC:WW play, I managed to finally quit cold turkey. I may have to head to TRU for this. Even if it means spending an hour killing roaches and weeding my village. :/

Even worse, what if it's stuck in your pocket? You're standing there, pulling something out of your pants with tens of parents with little kids around.

Grr... I just paid off my 800000 bell loan and thought that was the end of it, but NOOO...

I'd have no problem going to TRU and downloading this stuff but that would involve me driving to the nearest one which is in a city that makes me feel ill just crossing the border into it.

Blerg.

Getting slightly off topic here, but I just got a DS and was wondering what you guys think of Wild World. I played the crap out of the original (gotta love waking up extra early before classes to buy a damn shovel because the store is closed whenever you get back at night) and was wondering if its worth picking the DS version up. I've read reviews and so forth but I figure I could get a better idea just asking you guys.

Haha agentgray I actually thought the same thing at first, which made me slightly sheepish while making my previous post. :D

Ah, but now, Nook's is open until 11pm.

It's the same game, but better. Selling things is ridiculously simple with the touchscreen, same with typing letters. It's more beautiful because of the 3-d world, no more changing screens. While the top screen isn't used for much, they do throw in a few neat things (floating presents, Gulliver in his ufo). Blathers can identify your fossils for you.

There's no way I can talk about this without appearing to be a little girl. Maybe I am. Perhaps I am a little girl who plays Chromehounds. But, if you got into the first one at all, you have to get this one.

edit -- you in da 'Burgh? Damn, I moved away a few years ago when I graduated. Last I knew, there were a couple of good game shops that just sprung up in Squirrel Hill. Used to have to go to Monroeville for anything worthwhile.

I'm with Zacharai. The fact that it's portable means you can usually find somewhere to pop into town every day, wherever you are.

I wish that there was some way to skip the blather that all the characters give EVERY TIME YOU LEAVE NOOK'S or the museum... Yeesh.

I love AC, but I never get to play it. My town is probably in flames at the moment....
