I picked up Ratchet and Clank 3 in a Blockbuster sales offer and it's excellant. I'm basically playing it as a first person shooter, it's more fun and more effective to play from that perspective. It's got vehicles, a wide range of weapons and quality gun play.

Now I know it's technically a third person platform game but still...it's a quality shooter as well. People have been writing this off too quick in my opinion. Give it a chance. Graphically at least its of great quality and a cohesive style.

Very old. But hey if old E3 pics = new. Cool.

Mike, Sony only released 5 screens at E3, not 16, and I checked with my own archive, IGN's, as well as GameSpot's, and there is exactly 1 older screen in there ...

Unless I completely missed a batch somewhere, they seem pretty new :)

Why don't characters' feet touch the ground?

Everyone must be using the 'floating' hack.

Why don't characters' feet touch the ground?I don't know how you walk, but my feet usually leave the ground every now and then.

Yet another example of why I could care less about screenshots.

You misunderstanding me. They are "new" pics of "old" E3. It not pics of a new build or anything.

I still think screen shots are very important. They allow you to examine a snapshot of time, taking as long as you like to soak in the details. I'm not saying screen shots are better than video as a representative look at an upcoming title, but they are a useful and important tool for decision making.

And, now that I look at it, both characters in the screen could be taking steps with their levitating feet.

I was really hoping for a 'float' cheat code. ;-)

Graphically at least its of great quality and a cohesive style.I'll say the style is cohesive, which goes a long way, but technically it isn't impressive. The poly counts on all the characters seems disturbingly low, especially the aliens with their angled joints and limbs.

Both made by Insomniac... maybe? That's the only thing I saw.... BTW I'm just grasping for some sense here. :)

It looks like nobody cares about this game. The thread has only 1t views. :(

I can understant though. It has a serious case of 'meh' going on.

WorthPlaying has the worst screen shot viewer setup too. :(

He said it's graphically impressive. In my opinion, artistic merit has more to do with making games look good than sheer polygon counts. I thought the game looked great personally. With the large amount of enemies and detail in the environments (especially in Up Your Arsenal) you have to make sarcrifices somewhere on the aging PS2, and Insomniac did it in places where 90% of people hardly notice it.

Actually the game was pretty cool at E3. Only problem is that it is only pretty cool. It's nowhere near worth paying $700.

Holy crap they only make one model PS3 now and they jacked to $700. Wow.

blah blah. You know what that represents. The $600 PS3 put tax and a $60 game. . . which is actually more like $725 here in Texas with our sales tax.

It really is a pretty fun game. I'm just guessing that people aren't interested in pretty fun games with that kind of price-tag. That's my reason for not following it.

bored with this game already.

Seeing those aliens holding those guns with the big clips on their back...my gawd.

I kind of want to play this, but I hate the playstation controller for FPS games with a fucking passion. I have tried every big one that came out on PS2 and not once could I ever stand the controls. The sticks are too close together and the controller simply isn't suited well for a shooter like this. Now, if they took that tilt aspect and let you tilt the controller to peak around corners, that would be sweet. But, I'd rather play an FPS with the 360 controller or mouse/keyboard.

That, and I dont have 600 bucks.

Yes, it represents everyone using the $600 model as the OMG PS3 is so expensive model...when most people won't be buying that model.

I'm not saying screen shots are better than video as a representative look at an upcoming title, but they are a useful and important tool for decision making.I guess it depends on what you consider important. For me, the "technical" appeal noticeable in the screenshots is irrelevant to the final result during gameplay. If I'm playing a game and I notice bad aliasing, poor textures, etc, thats one thing, but to stare at a screenshot to look for visual issues is just nit-picking.

"OMG, PS3 costs close to a $1 million! I had to pay $600 for the system, then $50 tax, then $60 for the game, then $10 for the gas, then $30k for the car to pick it up in with $4k in interest for the car loan, then another $500k for my house, then add the utility bills to keep the house running up to the point where I could buy a PS3. Then my $3000 TV. Plus the $4000 in furniture for my living room. Not to mention the $120k in college expenses so that I could get the career that allowed me to make the money to afford my PS3! How could Sony expect anyone to pay so much?!"

I disagree as I think most people who will pay this much will want the superior model, however, $600 for this game is also way too expensive.

Gor - okay. . . making the point that this is why I'm not interested in the game. For me to play it would cost $725. But maybe you just wanted to get all crazy ranty in an attempt at humor. . . that tired internet-crazy bullshit is old hat here though. Go find a newer crowd.

That doesnt change the fact that it's going to cost 700 bucks to buy the GOOD PS3 and one game.

True dat.

I hope FPS games turn out well on Wii, cause that is more in line with my spending sensibilities. $250 +$50 game = whole hell'a lot cheaper than the competition with what could be the best console FPS controls.

I don't know why some people seem to think this game doesn't look good. Is it the muted palette or the lack of bright, shiney things? No space marines with flashing neon lights on their armor? I think it's pretty fantastic artistically. I also like how they've completely gotten rid of jaggies in the entire game, basically. I'm looking forward to it.

This is the ONE game that really interests my for the PS3, but not enough to buy it at launch. I really enjoyed the Ratchet and Clank series and this game looks like it will have the same production values. So I will wait until a few more games I want show up on the platform.

Assassin's Creed really sounds like it will be multi.

That's fair.

Both are expensive, but $725 just feels beyond reason to me. And don't get me wrong, I WANT to play this game and a few others on the PS3. I'm mostly just pissed that I can't buy one because I can't stomach the ridiculous price.
