<span class="articleText">Before I put pen to paper on this review, I contemplated forming my thoughts under the three subheadings, "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly." Lucky for us, a distaste for cliche quickly steered me off that path. The Gunstringer (http://www.1up.com/games/xbox360/gunstringer) handles a bevy of timeless themes with too much love to sully this review with a trite gimmick. It's a game that takes a handful of seemingly unrelated genres and forms a union between them that exudes impossible amounts of charm. It's also a game that provides irrefutable validation for adopters of Kinect.
You are the hand above The Gunstringer, an undead marionette puppet who traverses a fantastical western landscape with al dente pasta attached to every joint. You guide your undead companion on his tour of revenge using a simple and intuitive two-handed approach. The Gunstringer is a game built for Kinect, not shoehorned into the technology during the 11th hour. Anyone who played Child of Eden (http://www.1up.com/games/xbox360/child-of-eden) will be immediately familiar with the controls. By brushing the cursor over a group of enemies before flicking your wrist, your undead avatar will empty his six-shooter into an oncoming horde in no-time flat. During platforming segments, quickly raising your left hand will result in the Gunstringer leaping over any obstacle in his path.
