Anyone actually get through DS2?

Personally, I got pretty far in it and then it locked up and I lost about 4 hours of gameplay and got discouraged.

I managed to beat it on normal, but never got to try any of the other difficulties. Recently I decided I wanted to solo the game, so I started all over. I'm making decent progress, but I have yet to beat it.

I beat it, yeah. It was a step in the right direction for the franchise, but it still feels a bit more like a RPG manager than an RPG. Pilfering some of GW's more creative defensive, retribution, and indirect offensive abilities would help a lot with this, as there's only so much you can do with vanilla healing and damage.

I have DS2, but I never got more than an hour into the campaign. Now I'm hooked on Titan Quest. Sadly I don't think I'll get back to DS2 for quite some time.

Titan Quest is just a better all around hack and slash game. I bought DS2 right when it came out, because I loved the original. Then, after about a week of playing, I was too bored to give a shit about it anymore, because it's just not all that enthralling. Titan Quest is superior graphically, gameplay wise, and from a design standpoint. I dont know why anyone would buy an expansion to this one.

Dungeon Siege 2 is without a doubt my personal rpg fav of all time. The combat is excellent, with flying chunks of gib everywhere when you land a super-powerful hit. More than a few "oh my god!" moments just from that =]. The graphics are extremely pretty, the enemies are diverse, and character development has a lot of room for flexibility and combinations. You can also get pets, that you alter the development and growth of by feeding them different types of items. The game world is MASSIVE.

I have probably logged more hours in this game than is healthy: me and a friend beat it on Elite difficulty (which is the highest, after you beat it on normal and veteran), and I have a solo character about to finish the third act on veteran.

I am very excited about this expansion!

Well, I just picked this back up cause I am not spending the money for Titan quest right now, and I believe I am about to finish act I, I am ready to leave the island and head to the desert.

I wonder if they improved the graphics? I'm serious, Dungeon Siege 2 had worse graphics than Diablo.

I beat DS2 on normal just a few weeks ago (after picking it up for 19.95). Very fun game. I would've liked to have the camera move back further but an install of mod fixed that. I am looking forward to seeing a continuation of the story.

I got to the beginning of Act 2 in DS2 a while back (that's in the Desert, right?) but lost the save when I upgraded my PC.

I've recently started the game over again as I was in need of a good hack & slash and the lack of the 'pick everything up' button in Titan Quest just got on my nerves.

Plus the game has been sitting there on my shelf for a year or so now and I am on a major kick to work my way through my older games rather than buy new ones.

It does kind of irk me that the story doesn't conclude in the main game. Ah well.

Atleast they got the title right. With "Broken" in it's name it should deffinatly live up to the DS2 standards.

So do you work at 2K or GPG or something? Maybe in marketing or PR?

I don't know... just a hunch.

I played DS2 for a couple hours with some friends. Have to say, not very impressed, and I'm surprised they are releasing an expansion pack for it this late in the game. Are the graphics being updated at all? Because DS2 looks like crap compared to today's standards.

I guess I'll be playing this one, and by playing I mean setting my guy to auto follow and auto attack to make someone else do all the work. That's been the best option since Progress Quest!

Oh come on, we both know that's not true, at worst the graphics where about even.

Anyways from what I remember reading about the game there where some small graphics upgrades, but if you didn't like the graphics in the first one you probably won't like the enhancements.

I was able to finish the game twice and got bored of the game in the near the end of the second act, before the dragon fight.

lol. . . not even close. Though I agree with you that DS2's graphics aren't very good, your nostalgia is making more of Diablo II than it was in actuality. . . go play it again, it looks like the 6 year-old game that it is.

I might actually check out this game, the concept art for this looks great, and now I have a system that can run 3D games...the last 3D game that I could play on my computer was Shogo:Mobile Armored Division...now THAT was a game.

I wish I did, but no. Sorry buddy.

So you can't say something positive about a game without being a viral marketer? Gee I better watch my optimism level from now on.

I have to say that Diablo 2 is a hell lot uglier than DS2. I can say that after installing both and playing them. Diablo2 is great, but looks like dead dog vomit. And I *like* 2d isometric RPGs, I still thing BG2 is pretty (when you up the res, of course).
