Faces of War thrusts gamers into the decisive battles of World War II in Europe. Players command American, English, Soviet and German troops while fighting famous conflicts such as the Normandy Invasion, the Battle of the Bulge or the Battle of Berlin in shocking detail. Thanks to complex artificial intelligence, soldiers don't simply execute any order given by a player, they think about how to do it in the most efficient and safe way. Faces of War takes combat gaming to a new level by integrating a psychological element.

In each mission of Faces of War, players will be leading a squad of 6 soldiers in a full 3D environment. Through the decisive European battles of World War II, they will be in command of Allied, Soviet and German troops. It's a nice demo. It probably has the best destructable environments that I have ever seen and it's from the makers of Soldiers: Heroes of WW2 which was pretty good and quite different from other WW2 games.

This game seems like it has the potential to be really fun but I have no idea how to play it. There's no tutorial and the action is way too frantic. My guys run around at random and get shot up. There also seems to be a bug where if you tell your bazooka guy to shoot, he continuously shoots and wates all his rockets. Also I stole a half-track and put my squad inside but they wouldn't shoot at anyone or use the mounted machine gun.

wasn't there supposed to be a public beta released for company of heroes. I know about the fileplanet one, but i thought they said that a week later it would go public.

I can't wait for the day where we can start saying "gah! not another Iraqi/Middle east themed game!"
