According to TeamXBox's Review (http://reviews.teamxbox.com/xbox-360/1196/NCAA-Football-07/p1/), it appears that NCAA Football 2007 has been feature-cut on the X360 when compared to it's PS2 and XBox counterparts. Sound like Madden 2006 for the 360, anyone?

Sadly, just like last year’s Madden title NCAA is a little shallow when it comes to its feature set. The main mode of play is still the dynasty mode, but the new campus legend feature that made its way into this year’s NCAA on the Xbox is completely absent. Other little things have also been left out of NCAA 07 on the 360 like the ability to rename your coach or create your own school and signage, there also appears to be a bit of a discrepancy between the rosters in the two games.

Other things that don’t make the cut in NCAA 07 include stadium pulse, the new spring drills, defensive hot routes via the right analog stick, the third person camera perspective, ESPN The Magazine replacing the standard weekly Sports Illustrated issue, as well as few other less notable absences. Ultimately it’s the lack of the small things that the Xbox version includes that holds the 360 version back from true greatness and a spot in the gaming Hall of Fame. Is this what the future holds for EA Sports' Franchises? Just spice up the graphics, cut important features to keep costs down, and push it out the door? Ironically enough, they gave the game an 8.5/10.

Anyone care to guess what the chances are of this game making to the backwards compatibility list?

EA games are just getting cheap. The instruction books for games like BLACK were cheap they didn't even have color photos. Now they are releasing $60 games with features cut. They won't be getting many of my pennies any time soon.

Oh, I'm gussing the chances of that happening reside somewhere in the range of none and fuck all!

That's one of my biggest beefs with EA: not even providing the bare minimum of documentation. I remember comparing a Madden 2002 instruction manual with a Madden 2005 manual: 48 pages versus 16. And that's not to mention Fight Night Round 3: my friend could not figure out several important parts of how the game worked because it just wasnt in the dozen or so pages in the manual. One of those things that shows utter contempt for the consumer.

EA definitely probably did this due to time/budget constraints. They'll have an overblown feature list next year when "next-gen" will become "current-gen". Right now their money-makers will be the PS2 and Xbox versions of the title. . . not the 360 title.

Will there be any people who choose to play on old consoles because of the lack of these features? I'd personally prefer the better graphics and animations. . . but I only play these games for a little while. . . I'm not the sports game player that represents their diehard demographic.

Isn't that what EA Sports has been for at least the past five years? :p

In my mind there is no excuse for lack of features in NCAA 07. They already had the Madden engine to work with. So I'm thinking this game could've/should've been in development at least two years.

I think they just cut features so they can re-add them in subsequent years and re-sell them as big improvements.

It's hard to bash EA when they makes two of my favorite games right now: SSX and Burnout. That said, they've also made some stinkers...just like most everybody else.

Me. I got the PS2 version because the 360 version didn't have everything I want to play with (the new playbooks were the dealbreaker for me...I needed those new playbooks). It sucks, because I'd much rather play it on Live, but whatever.

That's absolutely fucking retarded. They downgrade the next-gen version? Isn't there a reason we are paying upwards of 400 bucks so we can play these fucking games? Shouldn't they have MORE features? What the fuck gives?

Decisions like this are one of many reasons I don't buy EA games new and simply wait a week or two until I can find them used, thus giving no money to the company. Is it slightly inconveniencing? Sure, does it help if we implicitly support these decisions by bitching on message boards and then just buying the thing new anyway?

Even with all that being said, this is by far and away the BEST version of NCAA Football that EA has released to date.

- Graphics are MUCH improved
- The interface is extremely well done and now customized to my favorite team
- Gameplay got a shot in the arm and is much more detailed
- Control changes take some getting used to, but I'm starting to like it

Everyone has to look for the slight blemish in an otherwise outstanding product...

"What the fuck" gives is that only one company owns the NFL and NCAA licenses. They know that not only were they the most known and most popular (although argumentively not the best), but now they are the ONLY game in town, and that the masses will likely buy the game, stripped down or not.

Unfortunately, often they are right. =(

Doesn't EA have their own network that you have to pay to play online that's in addition to Live, or did this die out?

i could live without the features if i could play online, but all afternoon and night the EA servers have been down (and apparently that means no playing on LIVE). so, yay, fun.

Typical EA. After playing every FIFA game since it's birth I've given up all hope for a good soccer game from them. Every year they make some improvement to the gameplay. The problem is that with every improvement they break something else or removes interesting features and include new useless features instead.

You could just stop buying them...

Lol, I've tried, but it hasn't been easy. I need my soccer fix, and since Pro Evolution/Winning Eleven has been Playstation exclusive until recent years FIFA has been the only choice. I've moved away from FIFA now that PES/WE have been released on Xbox/PC

Awesome. I've been writing in and requesting this feature since Madden 2001.

I played a good hour of NCAA 07 on the X360 before I returned it for the XBox version.

Listen, YOU CAN'T EVEN PLAY TWO PLAYERS ON THE SAME TEAM ON THE 360! The menu system is AWFUL. The original menus look the same as before, but they're so easy to navigate, why mess with a good thing? Not being able to create-a-school, or even change the look of my created player beyond his face was really, really disappointing.

I returned it promptly, got the XBox version, and played 6 hours straight last night. I love the new version, it takes everything 06' has and improves on it or polishes it up nice.

Except for momentum.......sometimes it doesnt exactly behave how you think it should.

After all is said and done, this simply means that I will NOT be buying Madden 07 on Xbox 360.
