The whole "PC gaming is dead" thing strikes me as an absolute joke, but there are those out there who like to perpetuate it. Razer took advantage of that by teasing an announcement coming to the website pcgamingisnotdead.com. That reveal went live today, introducing us to the Razer Blade (http://www.razerzone.com/blade), a laptop that it calls "the world's first true gaming laptop."
That claim might be a bit of a stretch -- there are more than a few high-end laptops out there with dedicated video cards designed for gaming. It does look like a very nice piece of hardware, and the specs will make many desktop computer owners envious.
The Blade is equipped with a dual core Intel i7-2640M (with speeds ranging from 2.8 GHz to 3.5 GHz if you overclock), 8GB of 1333 MH DDR3 memory, an Nvidia GT 555M with 2GB of GDDR5 memory, a 320GB 7200rpm hard drive, and a 17.3-inch LED backlit screen. It's also got the other obligatory features like an HD webcam, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI, 3 USB ports (one is 3.0, the other two are 2.0), and so on. The complete package weighs about 6.9 pounds and is 16.81 inches wide, 10.90 inches deep, and 0.88 inches tall. That's incredibly light and thin for something with so much power. Unlike with other high-end laptop manufacturers (Alienware, for example), you can't customize what's included.
