The box art for the September release of Dark Messiah of Might and Magic has been sited (http://www.mightandmagic.com/uk/) at the official UK portal. Expect similar box art for the NA release.

Furthermore, Gameradar has a preview of Dark Messiah's class-based multiplayer mode (http://www.gamesradar.com/us/pc/game/previews/article.jsp?articleId=2006071714731257017&sectionId=1001&pageId=2006071714160338008), by Kuju Entertainment.

Standard DVD, slim case, numeric rating (no BS) - I'm importing.

BARF! That is such a boring cover, and not really artistic either.

Box art is a dying art form

That, in fact, is fucking awful box art. They could have just as easily recycled the box art from Isles of Terra, or Ultima 4, or a can of Campbells soup. Jesus.

Not Ico bad, but still very terrible.

Yah defentially. I wish publishers here in North Americia wern't trying to Cash-In on people who want their games on DVD with "Special Editions" that cost $10 - $20 more.

It is just so bland, generic, and ugly.

Didn't sound right so I went and checked, you guys must of got this (http://www.porkrind.org/reviews/ico.jpg), whereas Australia got this (http://z-o-g.org/ico/ico-jp-cover.jpg) (in English of course).

I hate it when they do that. Still, it's normally just Japan that gets the great boxart (REmake), at least PAL got a taste as well this time.

The REmake (http://images.google.com/images?q=tbn:iZZ0P9hQQo5kVM:bio-admonition.com/ImageGallery/albums/userpics/10001/normal_remboxartjap.jpg) Japanese art, tiny tiny pic but I'm lazy and its the best I could do. It's the lobby of the mansion if you can't tell.

EDIT: I'm silly, I forgot it was called Biohazard in Japan.

did anyone of you read the multi preview? it sounds like TFC + magic! the reviewers were pretty excited too. This is after so many bad impressions from beta testers, it is a suprise.

You guys talk as if the boxart plays some major fucking factor in your decision to purchase. You don't like it? Big deal! Check out the multiplayer, that shit sounds bad ass.

The Crusade mode deffinitely sounds like some TFC-styled awesomeness.

Look, great boxart is great fucking boxart, it adds to the feeling when you hold the game. Some of us still appreciate quality and effort put into things.

It's like having a good dress on. You might be one beautiful looking dude, but if you don't know how to dress yourself up properly, not a good first impression to other people is it.

So yes, box art is quite important.

I'll agree that it's cool when the box art looks good/great, but it shouldn't be taken in consideration when buying a game.

It reminds me of when I was a kid, I'd rent those Master System games based on the box art, and I'd usually be frustrated later.

So come on, you're not going to buy a game you're not interested in just because the box art looks good, nor are you going to NOT buy a game you are interested in just because the box art looks bad.

Unfortunately, it is. Just not by us.

The cover isnt terrible. But I think what would have made it more "interesting" would be to have the enemy facing you (our hero) and looking at him instead of the camera behind him or the audience. Turn his shoulders to the hero aswell.

Showing a bit of details like scars or fresh wounds would have been good on the enemy aswell. God, it's tough working out a cover around that GIGANTIC logo of theirs. It must have been frustrating finding a tolerable position for it, without it covering too much of the artworks real estate.

Further more, I'm so excited about this game!

That multiplayer sounds absolutely amazing! Go read it now if you haven't already. I just hope everyone's broadband connections are up to surviving melee combat -- then again it's been a few years since Savage so it's worth a try again. The rock paper scissors approach sounds great, and this is just made for good guild play. The only strange skill was priests being able to spot assasins -- what... just in time to be slaughtered by them? Maybe priests will have a kind of Hunter's Mark or something like that to flag assasins -- that would be cool.

I'm really excited about this title now.

As an aside. . . won't this also be released via Steam?

i played the beta this weekend, multiplayer looks like it has potential, as the levels are very roomy and nicely thought out.

graphics are very nice, as are the animations. personally i only care about the singleplayer, but am looking forward to the game anyway.

The last might and magic game I played was either 1) Not very good or 2) Not for me. It could have been either one. It was a while ago. That said, this one looks good.

Chances are, not very good. Ever since the dawn of 3D graphics they've sucked and sucked badly. But then so did Prince of Persia.
