So head on over there and join up if you aren't a member already!

Careful, 1up.com usage has been known to cause sterility, even when viewed through the filter of an EvAv club.

How do I get my 1up name listed as connected with my EA name?

Throughout the week this week I will be updating the members list to add members whose names in EvAv and 1up are alike. If your name is different in either place, PM me with your names (on 1up please), and I'll be sure to update them.

1up? Thanks, but no thanks.

Heh, that encouraged me to update my 1up profile (and Gamespot profile by proxy), which I hadn't done in forever. ;)

I've been adding reviews and 'professional' writing to my 1Up blog, so feel free to check that out guys (though much of the content there gets posted here anyways).

I'm really interested to see what some of the EA folks will write when turned loose on their blogs. You all know how to catch me if you ever need anything.

PS -- since that Gordon guy came through the office the sterility machine has been offline.

I dont get it, what does this do? Just vie me a new skin/template for the 1up site? or are there certain features unlocked?

You have a cheek showing your face round these parts! You're likely to get lynched if you're not careful... Us trolls don't take too kindly to foreigners! :D

Kidding, of course.

Anyway, I'm currently finishing off a short story that I'll post in my own blog and over at 1Up when it's finished.

I'd rather not affiliate myself with a site that thinks Loco Roco promotes racism, thank you very much.

As opposed to Toybane?

I saw it being featured on the front page of 1up.com. I ignored it for the most part, but I guess I could check it out the next time I swing by to see if it's that bad.

Edit: It's pretty much garbage, but it was good for a laugh how the guy pointed out just that one enemy type. (the full version may reveal more enemy types that weren't originally present in the demo.)

And being black myself and having played the PSP demo, it never crossed my mind or looked at all racially offensive to me.

:D Mujya! :D

I know 1up's communities can be, well, childish.

For those who didn't tune in for the EvAv podcast featuring Garnett as a guest, here's a paraphrased recap. Garnett explained how 1up is comprised of a bunch of smaller communities, that being the clubs people make. It is what you shoose to make of it, just like here.

As opposed to Toybane?

Comic and movie reviews don't belong on Toybane. Game reviews probably don't either. Any further Reviewing the Previews I do would be posted on Toybane before 1Up.

The whole site or specific people on it? Glad to see you reacting against gross generalization with gross generalization. :)

To clarify, because it took on a life of its own, the Loco Roco story was about a 1UP user who brought up the issue in his blog (Alejandro Quan-Madrid's blog (http://www.1up.com/do/blogEntry?bId=7208651&publicUserId=5525398) )

Kotaku picked up on it and called attention to it as a race story. As the story continued to grow, our Features Editor, Jeremy Parish, wrote a piece concerning it all on his blog (Jeremy Parish's blog (http://toastyfrog.1up.com/) -- it's currently on the second page of his stuff. He updates pretty often.)

In the way that it grew from a user's blog, though, it shows how real a statement gamers can make with their blogs.

If by 'good' you mean pissing razors for a fortnight, then I concur.

Hmm, I suppose I owe Blazyr an apology. I did pick up the story originally by seeing a link to Kotaku about the racism article, and they linked to the editor's (Jeremy Parish's) newspost about the issue. Therefore I assumed it was him that was making the claims, and seeing the picture of a blackface sort of reinforced my thoughts on that. I finally did notice it was not him actually saying Loco Roco was racist, but that... wAlejandro dude that posted it on his own user blog.

However, I still assumed that 1UP was agreeing with him, and I guess that was a mistake on my behalf. Sorry.
