Joystiq (http://www.joystiq.com/) is reporting that an official Japanese Nintendo site (http://www.nintendo.co.jp/) for the game has been launched here. (http://www.nintendo.co.jp/tincle/)

This was previously mentioned by score here (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13627&highlight=tingle) on Evil Avatar.

Is the title of this game, "Tingle Must Die", or "Kill Tingle vol. 1?" Because if it isn't either of those, then I'm not interested.

Are you kidding me? I cannot wait for this game. I pray that it gets an English localization. If the art style of the website is anything like the game, I'll be all over it. It reminds me of Day of the Tentacle ... and anything that reminds me of that is already on my good side -- let alone if you're making a game about my favorite Zelda character.

Oh yes. I will have my own Tingle.

Oh my god, it is a tingle point and click adventure game.

the only way I would even acknowledge this game's existance is if it let you kill tingle in various bloody and somewhat obscene ways.

tingle=worst nintendo character ever

Of all the Zelda offshoots Nintendo could make ... why this? I've been playing Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door recently, and not only would I love Nintendo to make a proper Zelda RPG, I wouldn't even mind it in the Paper Mario style.

This Tingle game could be good, I guess. But there are so many other things I'd rather see done with Zelda ...

Cause tingle is ridicously popular over in japan.

I expect him in smash bros too.

Tingle's all over the place in The Minish Cap...he hooks you up with some sweeeeet stuff. And for that, I thank him.

Personally, I have nothing against Tingle...but, he's kind of weird...he reminds me of the father figure in Katamari Damacy.

I like tingle. I find it groundbreaking. I have a 360 and i noticed the most of the games main character are balded marines. Dont get me wrong, i am waiting for Gears of Wars as much as any of you but man, sometimes i prefer something funnier.

This begs the question: When will I be able to play Tingle on my Wii?

You should have said, "When will I be able to tingle my wii".

but close enough.

Tingle is the greatest character Nintendo has ever made, he deserves his own game.

This game alternately intrigues me and creeps me out.

I am with Harlan Hoyt. Tingle is definately a very memorable character and it would be really cool to see him in an RPG that goes rather surreal rather quickly. I'm not sure if I could handle Tingle for an entire RPG's length though. At least not without running from the room in terror every so often.

I followed the first link to nintendo's japanese DS site. I have to say wow. There is a clear reason it is dominating over there. They show the new browser coming. They show the voice-activated recipe software. They show all those cool looking bit generation titles. And they show magical vacation and a couple other games. The DS has so much crazy shit. That recipe thing is sick, and a browser on the weak-ass ds that actually works? I don't know. It seems like they have so much good stuff going on. The PSP is technically better but the DS just seems to be done so much smarter.

Speaking of how awesome the DS is, I have a strong suspicion that they will finally fulfil my dream of mixed portable/TV based gaming through their virtual consoles. How awesome would it be to download Final Fantasy II on your virtual SNES...you play it on the wii until you're done for the day, you then transfer the game to your DS with saves intact and continue gaming on the road...once you are back in the comfort of your home you transfer your progress back to the wii's virtual console and continue gaming...that would be so sweet. I would like to think that Nintendo is confident enough to not let that idea threaten their ability to sell DS games and such...the way I see it, it could supplement their often meager library.

There was a kid in japan dying of cancer, and his one wish... was for a RPG staring Pit. Nintendo made this just to spite that kid dying of cancer.

I really don't understand the animosity some of you have towards Tingle. Diff'rent strokes, I suppose, but I look at it as a hilarious bit of total absurdist humor. If Tingle had debuted as an Adult Swim cartoon, I think people would fucking love it. I mean, a middle aged man who has a midlife crisis, decides to become a fairy and starts wearing a green outfit with tights? That's pure comedy gold. And, if (and who knows) it's like the website looks -- i.e., an old school point and click adventure -- oh god, please let it be a point and click adventure -- then, well, frankly, Nintendo will have made the greatest game of the year.

Dang...was that in the press release? They are really trying to distance themselves from their kid friendly image...personally I thought they would do it by releasing custers revenge II, but this will do the trick...

Speaking of Zelda games...I finally finished the Minish Cap...one of the best Zelda's ever. Can't wait for the DS Zelda.

I have only one simple question: Why?

Because they can. Seriously. If there's a company that can pull off a game concept this bizarre, it's Nintendo.

And read the game description from GameSpot:

"According to the scan, the game's plot apparently follows an average middle-aged guy leading a dull existence. One day, he responds to an invitation to "come to the spring," and finds himself mixed up in a sort of wager. An old man named Rupee-ji (a skinny guy with a Rupee for a head) invites our hero to collect the familiar currency of Hyrule and toss it into the spring. As a result, he opens up a path to the "Happy Land," a paradise where wine, women, and song are in ample supply. As soon as he agrees to give it a try, the protagonist is transformed and appears wearing the familiar Tingle outfit."

So amazingly weird.

Tingle is an extortionist of the highest order. But as for the game, I'll probably get it. It looks pretty good, and in no way affects my masculinity.

Wow, this game looks amazing. I'm not kidding. I'll buy this on release day - I love Tingle. Nintendo had better release this one stateside.

P.S. Whoever mentioned Tingle showing up in the next Smash Bros. is a genius. I'd never play as anyone else.
