Joystiq (http://www.joystiq.com/2006/07/11/sf-event-to-unveil-live-arcade-wednesdays/) points to a leaked Press Release that will probably find its way out tonight after the Summer of XBox Live Arcade Event (http://gamerscoreblog.com/team/archive/2006/07/10/536131.aspx). In it, it details 5 upcoming titles for XBLA to be released every Wednesday starting tomorrow July 12th with Frogger. July 12 – Frogger
July 19 – Cloning Clyde
July 26 – Galaga
August 2 – Street Fighter II' Hyper Fighting
August 9 – Pac-Man
Hit up Joystiq for the full press release. (http://www.joystiq.com/2006/07/11/sf-event-to-unveil-live-arcade-wednesdays/)
Something like this should have been done A LONG time ago. Even something more vague like "Mid July" for titles would have been nice.

I guess I need to purchase more Microsoft points. The checkbook isn't going to like that too much.

I dunno, I don't really see why you would buy frogger when there is hundreds of free flash versions on the net. Achievement points maybe?

I want Fate, man that game is soooo begging to be released on Live.

Here is why:
Xbox Live Arcade's 'Frogger' has been enhanced and reinvigorated for the Xbox 360 and features new, enhanced artwork that matches and compliments the original style. In addition the game's audio, including sound effects and music ditties, has been modernized to sound crisp and clear on today's high performance sound systems. New features include:
- Enhanced artwork and backdrops; players can now choose to play the original arcade classic graphics or the new enhanced graphics
- Fresh soundtrack and upgraded sounds effects
- New Xbox Live Arcade split screen multiplayer modes
- Addictive new Co-op vs Speed, and Head-to-Head Modes

I honestly can say that Achievement Points are the #1 reason I will buy old emulated games. I have played Frogger in dozens of formats. I still have a working Atari 2600 and Frogger cart. But I will most definately buy it on my 360....even though I can't really justify it :)
Bring on Street Fighter 2, Small Arms, and Lumines Live!!!

Yeah, I'm guessing Frogger is $5. Does anyone know the pricing of each of those titles?

Small Arms looks compleately bad-ass. That's become my most anticipated game so far. I also can't wait for Lumines, as that is one of my favorite psp games.

I am with you there completely. Achievements? HD? $400+~$10 (my guess) is still cheaper than the actual arcade.
I will be all over this unless it uses that stupid pay per play crap.

The press release contradicts itself, the list of dates say Street Fighter is the 2nd of August and Galaga is the 26th of July, but reading down it says:
– 'Galaga,' the popular space shooter from Namco, which was first released back in 1981, comes packed with a new online multiplayer function, enhanced graphics and all new game modes on August 2
– 'Street Fighter II' Hyper Fighting' takes the best from retro gaming and combines it with the signature features of Xbox 360 and Xbox Live, creating the best 'Street Fighter' experience to date, on July 26
Which is correct?

Glad they're finally going to have some regular releases.
Anyone know if 'Street Fighter II' Hyper Fighting' is going to have multiplayer support? It just says it "combines it with the signature features of Xbox 360 and Xbox Live", which is kind of vague. In fact, it sounds like it only has leaderboards or something.

I have posted on the developers board a few times in the past asking him what he thought, but he is a busy man. I purchased fate over 1 year ago and play it every other day. It is one of the best budget titles I have ever seen, plus he already has tons of mods for it. Man that came would be sooo addictive.

Frogger's out today? Time to check out the marketplace. I'll be getting everything except for Pac-Man. Unless I'm bored, then I'll pick that one up too.
No big releases this month (I guess I'll pick up Prey), so I have some money to spend on smaller games.

I'm attending the event tonight in San Francisco. Any additional details on the new arcade titles such as pricing I will report back either late tonight or tomorrow morning. I was reminded to make sure to bring my Gamertag with me so hopefully something cool will be given out to attendees like the Zero Hour achievement.

I'm pretty sure it will have online fighting, if this site (http://www.achieve360points.com/game/streetfighteriihyper/) is correct, looking at the last 5 achievements. I'm pretty sure it will be though.

It should have Live fighting with spectators even, and Quarters up on the screen representing who's got next again the winner. Link (http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/711/711018p1.html)
So very very awesome.

If we are wishlisting then I would have to add Chu Chu Rocket, Rampage, and I know it would likely not happen but a Live version of Settlers of Catan would make all my wildest dreams come true.
