I just found this website called Nex Gen Wars.com (http://www.nexgenwars.com/). Basically the idea is to keep track of all sales figures for the PS3, XBox 360 and Wii and display them side by side.

I'm not sure how reliable the site is in it's data, but the simplicity of it sure is nice. The weird thing is the XBox 360 counter goes up 1 tick about every 5-10 seconds. So I'm not sure what's going on here.

Maybe it has something to do with this? hehe

well, that site was revealed to be horseshit real quick. For the 360 to match that uptick, it'd have to sell 500k+ a month. It's been averaging half that.

could it mean consoles shipped/produced?

could it mean consoles shipped/produced?The number would be higher if that was the case.

It's just a simple offline script. The site doesn't get data from stores all over the world.

What a load of bullshit. The number gradually increases every 5-10 seconds as if it's getting sales data in real time. Except it's not. If this site updated their numbers every week/month to correspond with known sales data, perhaps it would have a trace of credibility.

Actually if the data was checked monthly or quarterly from Microsoft press releases and financial reports, it'd be pretty fair to have the counter increase on # of consoles bought per minute. It wouldn't be accurate per second, but on a weekly/monthly basis more or less.

Its most likely that uses a script that takes the sales so far and extrapolates a curve for future sales and just increases the number to fit the curve.

Ugh, console wars.

What Deadend said. I highly doubt the reliability of this site, personally.

I thought the NPD numbers were only for the US. When you add sales from the rest of the world, it could be 500,000+ a month.

Did anyone notice the survey/poll results? The poll puts the nintendo in a HUGE 1st place. That's directly against the recent Evil Avatar post about analysts predictions that was up yesterday.

It's possible, but it is next to impossible to get solid numbers from anywhere else besides the US and Japan. Here it's 200-250k a month, and it's dead in Japan.

It's not so surprising. It's historically proven that the main video-gaming public will NOT pay over $300 for a console. Since Nintendo is the only one offering a current-gen product for less than $300, the results should be clear.

I'm surprised any of these analysts know what Nintendo is.

That site will become mildly interesting in about 7 months to a year.

Are you the fool who made this site? Instead of throwing around insults perhaps you should argue the complaints brought forth against the site. I sincere apologize for exposing it as a bullshit. Fucking scammer.

There ARE NOT 4 million X360's out there in people's houses. Maybe they're in the channel, waiting for people, but they're NOT in people's houses.

The site is bullshit and probably put together by an Xbox fanboy.

I hate fanboys and the site is just stupid (even though I predict *** will "win" this round).
