FiringSquad chats with Throwback Entertainment CEO Thomas Maduri about the newly formed game publisher and their plans to revive a number of former Acclaim game franchises. You can check out the interview right here. (http://www.firingsquad.com/news/newsarticle.asp?searchid=11064) Here is a snip:
FiringSquad: The press release hinted that Throwback plans to release new games based on these properties. Is that true and if so what developers are you working with to make this happen?

Thomas Maduri: Yes it is true, we definitely wish to release new games based on the properties acquired from Acclaim. Titles such as Re-Volt, XGRA, and many others would be perfect matches for services like Xbox Live Arcade, the Nintendo DS, and other potential platforms.

As for impending releases we are working towards partnering with development studios now. Given the duration and complexity of the acquisition process, nothing other than planning could begin until the deal was finalized and announced.

Quite frankly these guys sound like a bunch of dumbarses, new IPs would be worth more than the junk they bought. Its not like they got X-Com, Ultima, or some other unused but still known IP.

I'm all for more XBLA titles. Especially if they stay cheap.

I have ReVolt for the Xbox and it was just a blast. I would love to see it brought to XBLA.

(It is a real Xbox DVD, it was released as part of the XBL Beta Test.)

I would LOVE to get XGRA. I have a deep love of the Extreme G series.

XBLA or Nintendo DS, I don't care, just gimmie the goods.
