If you're a big fan of Newsarama (http://www.newsarama.com) and DC's huge weekly series 52, you've probably been reading the weekly "5.2 About 52" segment, where 52 editor Stephen Wacker answers 5.2 questions about the series and then gives hints at what's to come. Well, this week Wacker and Newsarama gave us a treat with a full 52 questions about 52! (http://www.newsarama.com/dcnew/WAcker/Week9/52Wacker09.html) Here are some highlights:
13) Was including Detective Chimp on the cover to an upcoming issue a goof, given that he was trapped during the missing year?
SW: Nope. I guess you have to keep reading Shadowpact. I'm loving it.
22) Will Manthrax (the "villain" who was really an actor Booster Gold paid) going to show up again?
SW: I hope so. Blame Waid for the name. Joe Bennett and Ken Lashley did a great job visualizing him too. I ain't sure what he does, but I love him!
28) Back to Week Six - the two pages with Booster in Rip Hunter's hideout. Are there hints and giveaways to the rest of the series on the blackboards?
SW: Absolutely. That spread is basically my office. If you understand the spread, you understand 52.
52) Is there anything staring us right in the face, story-wise, that we're not picking up on?
SW: Yeah, Grant, Geoff ,Greg ,and Mark are working hard to make this book something you'll want to go back and reread once it's done to find new meanings and interpretations of various beats. Even JG is planting clues in front of your face.
While various weeks have been back and forth in quality, overall 52 has done a fantastic job of drawing me in. If it comes together as strongly as Wacker keeps suggesting, I'll definitely be going back to re-read.
