The Settlers II: The Next Generation Demo

The Settlers II: The Next Generation is the remake of BlueByte's 2D classic medieval management strategy game Settlers 2, making the jump to 3D.

UbiSoft has released an English demo, replacing the earlier released German version, which allows you to try out the same tutorial and one map.

I would be cooler if they release a version with higher-res sprites and more fluid animations instead :)
And I'm pretty sure that a donkey carrying a pig cannot look any better than it did in the original :)

OMG NDS Settlers? I was going to pick a DS Lite up yesterday for a trip but Gamestop's website lied and said they had 4 in stock when the had 0 :(

As for this demo, I tried the German one. I was able to guess what most stuff was either due to the fact that I spent so much time in the original game or because German is fairly similar to English. After about 4 hours of play (~3 play throughs of the time-limited demo) I still wasn't satisfied. I don't think I've felt the _need_ to play a game this badly for years.

Totally worth checking out the demo if you've never played the original, and if you have I'm sure you already downloaded the German one ;) For those who only played 3+, check this out, as I think it's much more fun.

Wooo gooo BlueByte! I knew that $13 I spent on the Settlers 1 re-release wasn't the last I'd give to you! :P
