Worth it? Will it be cheaper around the holidays? Which ones are good, which are bad?

That price is worth it for the first FEAR alone, so yeah I'd say it's worth it. Think of it as a game that has something like the insanity effects from Eternal Darkness (not as a mechanic, more as an experience?) combined with a decent shooter and obviously horror.

It's designed to get people up to speed before the imminent release of FEAR 3, so I doubt there's a better deal coming by holiday. Maybe an equal deal but who knows. It's a sweetheart deal in any case :P

Fear one was great. Never played the expansion or 2 because well... it's just more fear. The ending left me satisfied enough (no pun intended for the end of #2)

edit: Oh and no, it has nothing to do with insanity with the first one. FEAR is more like if Valve's "Operation Forces" style game was set in Stephen Spielberg's "Poltergeist" setting.

In Half-Life's "Operation Forces", you've got Gordon doing his thing, the G man doing his, and you're following the story of a nameless grunt sent in to stop gordon. That's the plot of FEAR in a nutshell which is why I was bored of it by the end of the first one.

Totally worth it! Last month, my "I forgot I own that" title was FEAR2. I picked it up on a steam sale and never played it, but I loved the original. So I played through the original and the expansions, and then FEAR2, and it was great. The expansions aren't as good as 1 or 2, but Extraction is good. Perseus is... well, I lost interest about an hour in, but I played through it anyway. It isn't terrible or anything, it's just boring, with no real fear and repetitive action.

FEAR 2 is great, and the ending really does set up a 3rd title perfectly. Also, there are a TON of inside jokes in the Monolith developed titles (1 & 2). They range from Monolith stuff (NOLF, Shogo, ect), internet memes, movie references (office space gets a ton)... you name it.
