On my way out the door for E3 today a woman in a suit handed me a black envelope with a sticker that read "Confidential". I opened it and found 2 5x7 cards. The first was a transparent litho with lines on it, the second was a double-sided card with two coded images. The first image had the url "TEST SUBJECTS NEEDED.COM", while the second was an image of a flying wasp. I couldn't find any information on the website regarding what it was for or what it was tied to, but if you guys have any ideas or want to check out the silliness, post here if you find out what the heck it is.

I checked it out but couldnt find any definite info on what it is. In the TOS agreement it mentions games and game services.

I got the feel that this might have something to do with Resident Evil. Dont know why but it sure feels like an Umbrella Corp gig. I have no clue rly..

Also could have something to do with 42 Entertainment based on some comments from :

The voice in the video sounds like the girl from Portal. Maybe it has something to do with a new portal game or maybe even Half-Life 3..

Kinda reminds me of ILOVEBEES.com when Halo 2 came out. Had this exact feel.
http://www.ilovebees.com/

now that i think about it...Could be for Halo. I checked out the site again and see that there's a countdown. Not sure if it's related.

Guess i'll find out via mail soon enough..lol:confused:

Should have this in the games section because im SURE it's game related and could use more input from fellow games..

Voice reminds me of the Animus from Assassin's Creed. Not sure what the Templar project in that was called. The image flashing made me think of that too. Something Portal related sounds reasonable too.

I got up to the ID part where it tried to make me enter my street address, so they could send me stuff in the mail. Think registering my email was enough info.

Fans of viral shit are suckers indeed...

We sometimes share general, demographic, or aggregated (not personal) information with third parties about our user base, but that information does not include any personal information.

Have fun being used by some company for whatever it is they're trying/going to sell.

Well it's a possibility that it is his project or that he is just a shill. All of the Blues on here are sketchy anyways...

From another site posted today... link (http://www.firstshowing.net/2011/check-this-out-mysterious-new-test-subjects-needed-viral-website/)

There was a woman handing out black envelopes to a number of us leaving E3 today. he envelope was sealed with a sticker that read "Confidential". When I opened it, inside was a transparent Lithograph with transparent slotted lines, and a double-sided 5x7 card with two coded images/messages. The first was the url to the website (testsubjectsneeded.com - which I googled hoping to find information and managed to find this page), the second image was an animating image of a wasp (as in the insect). Very strange, still no clue what it leads to.

Seems very familiar does it not? The post before that one was from 05/30/2011... That is also the persons only post.

Yeah, I posted there because when I searched for information on what I was handed at E3 it was the only website that popped up with any information (or lack there of). Anyway..

UPDATE!!

In the mail today I recieved a package from "The Human Preservation Project". It was a chrome bubblewrap shipping envelope and inside was a flashing blue LED light attached to a paper dragon fly (you know, it's like a strip of paper with the top half split down the middle and each half folded to make the paper spin as it falls). On the paper were the words "Mission Icefly" (doing a search for the phrase brings up this website (http://www.missionicefly.com)), the same familiar wasp logo, and a QC that I haven't checked out yet because I need to get the app for my phone to read those stupid squares.

Apparently a couple days ago a group of people flew over an outdoor concert and dropped a bunch of these from the air. There is video of it here:

Also inside the envelope I got was a small note...

We are both creatures of the senses, you and I - we inhabit the same reality, simmering just below the perceivable world.

THE PULSE IS GROWING. CAN YOU FEEL IT?

Now, to dispell any rumors that this is somehow my marketing campaign, I'm at The Workshop (http://www.theworkshop.us.com) working on magical Move title for the PS3 that has already been announced as "Sorcery (http://us.playstation.com/games-and-media/games/sorcery-ps3.html)". You'll just have to take my word for it... all I can do is promise you it has nothing to do with Human Preservation or Iceflies of anykind.

Viral marketing always reminds me of the game Majestic. It's about as equally successful.

How awesome was that? And that wasn't just an "outdoor concert"--it was Bonnaroo: a huge 4-5 day music festival which also happens to be just about a 1/2 down the interstate from where I live. Seeing this almost makes me wish I had tolerated all the smelly hippies and been there to see these drop from the sky.

On a related note, I wonder how many acid freaks started tripping bawls when they saw these little flashing blue dots falling out of the sky? :)

Maybe we lucked out and a few died out of sheer panic, thinking the horrible aliens from Skyline were showing up for realsies.

I signed up at the website, mailing address and all; my curiosity got to me, so I figured I'd start checking this one out. I know, ultimately, how this is going to end...because they all end the same damn way: Buy My Product!
