GameBrink (http://www.gamebrink.com/) takes a trip back in time with a Sega upgraded re-release.
Sega Ages Vol.20: Space Harrier II Space Harrier Complete Collection is a 20th anniversary collection of the flying pseudo 3D shooters that started it all back in the 80s. Arcade games like Space Harrier, Stun Runner, and later the Afterburner series started the 3D craze before the Sega had even dreamt about the Saturn and it’s entry into the world of polygons. Yet, for such a pillar of modern gaming, Space Harrier is a series that’s been fairly neglected over the last twenty years. It had two classic arcade titles, some spin-offs and ports, and then a few years ago there was a 3D Harrier game being worked on, but nothing ever came of it. Still, though the series may have been lurking in the dark for many years with this new Sega Ages entry the classic franchise is thrust back into the light once again.

Used to play Space Harrier at Chuck E. Cheese way back when it was Showbiz Pizza. Loved that game, but damn it hasn't held up well.

This is the stuff I want on live.
Sega classics, EA classics (ultimate wizard anyone?), Phantasy Star 1-3, Sword of Vermillion, etc etc..

I played the heck out of SH 1 on the SMS, and I still pop Space Harrier 2 into the Genny from time to time. Good mindless shooting fun. I wouldn't mind an upated sequel (like Outrun 2 on the Xbox - which I loved).

Allow me to reiterate: God damnit where the hell are the domestic Phantasy Star remakes?
The earlier, re-make of Space Harrier (from the same series), is a much better game (unless you need desperately need Space Harrier 2 and SMS SH 3D) and has a killer, re-mixed, score to boot.

Can't argue with that.

ummm.. on the GBA (http://www.gamefaqs.com/portable/gbadvance/data/560435.html)?
But what do you mean? You want US version of the Sega Ages series?

I could definitely see a next gen version of Space Harrier. They'd need to make a few tweaks...maybe even make it into a type of RPG.
Sword of Vermillion and Golvellius were classic games that have not spawned sequels. That amazes me to this day...
Phantasy Star Online is probably the only new Phantasy Star you will see. The GBA version emulated 1-3 pretty well.
Kenseiden is another game that can easily be translated into a 3d version. The game was a sleeper on the Genesis, but very fun.

Well, there's this Sega Genesis collection (http://www.joystiq.com/2006/06/25/relive-your-genesis-days-this-november/).
Edit: wth, they've removed it. Anyway, there's a Sega games collection heading stateside.

Yes, the gorgeous-looking PS2 remakes with new cutscenes and music. PS1 and PS2 are already out in Japan, and Conspiracy was going to port them here. I want them. In English.

They had a sequel in the arcade, Harrier World which was great fun, especially in 2 player. Wonder why they never brought that out on a home console..
