You can no longer view the Giantbomb videos on the site without completely unblocking Google Adsense which delivers all sorts of wonderful 3rd party malicious software.

Name dropping because you gotta get paid but you know what you did. Now go be one of "them" with the rest of the Koticks.

Well to be honest they were on strike 2 with me already. Maybe if they improve in the distant future, but for now they've lost my support.

I never thought they were all that good in the first place.
Why are there only 2 actual results for this on all of the Internet? One of them being this thread, and the other being this thread on Giant Bomb (http://www.giantbomb.com/forums/off-topic/31/giantbomb-has-finally-sold-out/498054/) that is nearly word-for-word exact for your post. I assume this was also by you.
Nobody on that thread has any idea what you're talking about. I don't go to the site often, but with AdBlock on full, I swung by myself and perused a few videos. No ads anywhere, from Google or anyone else, and everything seemed accessible.
Are you sure it's not just an issue on your end?

Yeah I bloged it there and just did a quick repost here. It was a mistake to dump the blog out onto the off-topic forum as I'd already commented on it in their bug forum with people who DO know what I'm talking about, and..... well....

If you have Adsense blocked anyway they really aren't losing anything by you leaving.

They could care less if I log in or out and neither could I (site was only worth it for the quick looks). By "losing my support" I mean they lose my attention, and the attention that generates by how much I get things around by word of mouth ect...

You're going from apathetic ("could care less") to aggressively negative (this and the other thread). It just rubs me the wrong way.

This is incorrect. i just went on the site, adsense blocked, and loaded up a vid just fine, and watched a good 10 second just fine. Non-issue.

If it worked for you, more power to you. Out of like the 5 or 6 scripts I block while visiting GB, the only that makes the videos work is unblocking Google Adsense.
Sounds like you clicked a youtube link by mistake. I can view youtube perfectly fine on giantbomb's site lol.

Now you've just got it backwards. Aggressive first ( rabble rabble videos require snooping to work), THEN apathetic (they took away the only reason I went to their site 'quicklooks' so I could care less if I visit it now)
Now back to that whole rubbing part .... :D

They should pay anyone who sits through their entire videos since they're so damn long... Giantbomb can be entertaining for a few minutes and that's it.

....and diving head first back into my madness due to insomnia, here's more proof people are still having issues with it. Oh gee a non subscriber, I wonder what could the problem be?

People are still having issues even may 30th ect because GB doesn't come out and tell their members you have to unblock adds because they don't want to seem like dicks. Now in all seriousness I did come to a hasty conclusion after speaking my mind but I stand behind it. The issue is, now if you're a non subscriber and logged in, you MUST have Google Adsense unblocked. The moment you log back out, the videos work fine. Why punish your members? Bollocks lol
Way to be dicks to people who take the time to sign up and contribute to their site. If they wanted me to become a full subscriber before, they took one HUGE step backwards.
Ok time to see if I can get some sleep.
I have ads blocked like crazy and the site works fine.

There's a high correlation between insomnia and various mental illnesses.
Why you no sleep?

Are you logged in as a member? That was the clincher. As long as you stay logged out you can block whatever you want. They shit on their members.
I'm not a member, not usually. I've signed up for some reason in the past.
I also don't consider it "shitting on your members" despite my religious use of adblockers, I know that using them equates to stealing from websites I love. There are websites that, having asked nicely, have had me "whitelist" them from blocked ads. Arstechnia, for example.
I will never get mad at a site for making themselves unreadable to thieves, especially over something as silly as a way to get google page rank.

If I'm blocking all the other adds then having addsense up is pointless anyways. edit: also if that's your definition of mad then lol, that's pretty tame. A public declaration of discontinued support is a firm stand to take, but lies upon the path of rational thought, instead of blind rage. Now the title of this thread? Very colorful, because I particularly like colors ;)

...How is using an adblocker not stealing?
Most sites get all of their money by advertising, advertising is from page views.
If you use an adblocker, you are reading the site without giving them advertising money for reading it.
It's stealing in the same way that downloading a show and watching it without commercials is stealing. You watch the show, without any hassle, but the network themselves doesn't get any of the advertising money required for making it.
I also do this and have no regrets.

Let's define stealing here as "to take without paying and without permission."
Clearly, it's possible for someone to give you something with permission for free, and that is not theft. That's a gift.
In the case of a website, a pageview is inherently free. There's no direct transfer of funds from viewer to provider either before or after a view. It is, as you say, on an advertisement model.
However, as with tv, the viewer has complete control over which advertisements they view.
To maintain the idea that adblocking is theft, you'd also have to agree that walking away from the television when the commercials come on is equivalent to theft of the tv show, which is also ad supported.
So, being on an advertisement model, the provider accepts that some people will choose to not view ads at all, knowing that many still will. The advertiser in either case gives permission to view the page. In the case of tv, they couldn't do otherwise. In the case of the web, they could do so but choose not to, as it would alienate readers further.
In either case, we have their permission to view the page, and therefore it is not theft. They would probably prefer that we view the ads, but they have not demanded it. To circumvent a paywall would be theft, but that's not what's going on here.
Besides that, sites don't really get paid unless you click on an ad, and ads only work because people buy. Are you prepared to say not clicking on an ad is tantamount to theft too?
