Quick Review:
Also after a few hours of the single player, it becomes obvious why the game received high scoring reviews. The VIP only cars can be bothersome, however the majority of cars can be unlocked by gaining 'rep'. Career progress is speedy with easily over a dozen events per season, with spots of gymkhana, Rally cross, Trail Blazer, and of course Rally. As foretold the Rally is more than 60% of the game I have seen so far.

After but a few hours my personal rating would be a solid 4 of 5.

I really want to play it, but I'm waiting for the first sale simply because I purchased too many games lately. I'll get it sometime within a month I bet.

I grabbed the $45 Steam pre-order. I love it so far, totally worth the price of entry. Clocked a couple hours in the split-screen alone. Love being able to do that on PC. Head2Head is such an obvious necessary inclusion, I can't believe DiRT2 didn't have it. Gymkhana is a blast. The greater selection of pure rally courses is really great too. Just feels like there's a lot more here than the predecessor. Of course, I largely viewed landrush as filler, so it might just be a matter of perspective.

Loses that kinda fun 'party' vibe though, which I guess is made up for in the party gametypes for online multi. The man vs nature vibe is more my thing anyway. I'm keeping them both installed for now, have too many friends not ready to switch up. They provide a slightly different experience too, so it works out.

My GfWL tag and Steam ID is in my sig. Think DiRT 2 and 3 are the only games I've actually used Live for multi so far.

Got to try a couple of the party modes earlier, infection and transporter. Basically tag and capture the flag, respectively. We were playing 3 player, and it was a ton of fun. The way those cars feel on those open 'arena tracks' they made for the modes is just great. Would be insane with a full group.

Still a third party mode I haven't fiddled with yet. There's also the team campaign stuff, haven't touched that all yet. Love racers with the multiplayer team racing option.

This game does a better job of counting your mp stuff; I can still raise my online rank in the 'jam session' mode, DiRT 2 only let me do that via the background missions. Your sponsor missions still apply too, and those generate rep for your SP campaign rank. Pretty awesome.
