Ritual has just updated SiN Episodes with a "Max Payne 2 a la Last Man Standing-style" Arena Mode add-on (http://www.sinepisodes.com/index.php?news). Arena Mode comes with 4 maps, with more to come in the months ahead.

And among other things, fansite Ritualistic has a good postmortem Q&A (http://www.ritualistic.com/content.php/interviews/060615_sineps_01.php) with Ritual Entertainment's Ken Howard and Levelord. The feature covers topics concerning the press reception of Emergence, mod support, and future additions.

Lastly, Game Overdrive has a little Sin Episode raffle (http://game-overdrive.com/site/modules/sinepscont/) going on, with the prize being a signed retail copy of the game (US residents only).

SiN Episodes is an old-school shooter with some decent firefights. There's definitely a home-grown vibe to it.

I played through HL2 Ep 1, Sin Episodes 1, and Quake 4 recently.

I really enjoyed all of them. They all had their own good qualities. Sin Eps is much like Duke Nukem, pretty ridiculous and what I found to be extremely satisfying guns.

Its not Half-Life, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it.

Iron Weasel, I did a review of it for the podcast. Listen to that.

I dig Sin Episodes. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but if you're in the mood for that style of game, it's perfect.

Sin just felt like it was lacking something to me, some level of quality it simply failed to achieve.

It's definitely not up to the level of a game like Half-Life. There's not even a comparison there.

That's so disappointing to hear. I really enjoyed the first one way back when, but with my game backlog so full, and with Prey actually looking pretty good, I probably won't get around to checking it out until it's sold as a collection at a reduced price.

SiN Episodes is the epitomy of an average FPS. It did nothing special, it was just 'there'.

Also, after playing a bunch of original SiN, I can see why fans of the original think that Relic messed up. Episodes has none of the attitude that the original had.

If you guys bought HL2 : E1 from CC for $7.99, they are going to do the same for Sin : E1. Sale starts july 2nd.

It is pathetic that Vavle charges $20 for each.

I think it's a fine price. It's just annoying in consideration of the cheap sales.

I thought it was 9.99 at circuit city. Anyways, I played Sin, boooring.

I really wanted to like Sin, but every few minutes the realization that I had paid $20 for a HL2 mod would set in, and not a very impressive one at that.

$20 is fine as long as they hold true to releasing new content for free (Sin Map pack). None of this micro-transaction BS. Wii60? Screw that. WiiC is where it's at.

SiN has near-HL2 quality models, and slightly better than HL1 quality map textures. 3 weapons, glitchy, short, uninteresting story... Moderately interesting shooting action... brain-dead AI on top level difficulty... 6/10.

The first episode of Sin Episodes was decent, but thinking back, all I can really remember is TITTIES! and a large number of chaingun bastards.

Even then, I'm a guy who can play almost any FPS and enjoy it, I played through Gunman Chronicles and really enjoyed it. But Sin, I just couldn't get past the gaping design hole staring at me.
