Folks, you heard it here first: Episode 18 of the best damned gaming podcast in the multiverse is recording tonight, and you can tune in and participate LIVE! Head on over to KUMM's (http://www.kumm.org) website and click the "Listen Live" link. The show starts at 9:00 PM central and goes until midnight. Here's our schedule for the night:

We're kicking off RIGHT AWAY tonight at 9:00 with an hour-long interview with comic writer, artist, and editor Jimmy Palmiotti. For the unlucky few who don't know, Jimmy is the creator of a ton of great comic books. His current projects with Justin Gray include the amazing DC western Jonah Hex as well as three upcoming books: DC's Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters, and for Marvel the Civil War tie-in Heroes For Hire and a 2-issue Wolverine/Black Cat team-up titled Claws. Jimmy's also the writer (with Garth Ennis) of the Punisher video game as well as the upcoming Ghost Rider game. This is a fantastic interview that you need to catch if you're at all interested in comics!

After the interview at 10:00 central we'll be doing a run-down of the week's biggest news stories, and no marriage announcements this week (sorry, folks!). After that? After that the madness begins! At around 10:30 we'll open up the phone lines and the inboxes and let YOUR voice be heard. You can send us an e-mail to evilavatarnews@gmail.com or call us at 320-589-6355. We'll also have a chat session going on at the Evil Avatar Chatroom (http://www.bapenguin.com/chat.php). Join us!

This is a really great interview, guys. Kefkataran and I were totally sold on his new titles. Claws looks to be a real treat...very much in the vein of...well, the way they plan to have these two characters play off each other. Laugh Out Loud. Laugh Out Loud in the way Hulk ripped Wolvie apart.

Just be there at 9. It's a good interview all around.

I'm going to do my damnedest to get there in time for the interview. Unfortunately, we've got a party to clean the house for by tomorrow and that might keep me busy until after the show starts.

I'm definately calling in though. Maybe *I* will call in drunk... Nah. I make little enough sense as it is.

I just don't want to talk about comics this week Kef! Let me talk about something else... ANYTHING ELSE!

Kefkataran

Spigot, I hear the show is good house-cleaning noise. Also, why don't you want to talk about comics?! You feeling okay?

Hmm, I already decided I wasn't going out tonight, so it's a sixpack of microbrew, a phat stack of comics, and the podcast for me tonight.

...and the mutiverse hasn't existed for like, 20 years :)

Kefkataran

A phat stack of comics is, like, totally the best thing to put down with the podcast. Also, if you don't read any Palmiotti comics yet, you probably will after this interview. :p

Well, Claws, Heros for Hire and Uncle Sam were already planned purchases. I've heard good things about his Hex...I might have to check that out in trades.

Good show...Spigot, I think you beat me to the call in for the comics (got a busy signal before that segment), but I'll galdly talk drop some comics knowledge next time if you are getting sick of it :)

I'm completely serious. We should do a segment called the Two Minute Hate and limit it to one per episode. (Maybe two, for the first episode.) And of course allow interviewees to 'Hate'.

Fun times! Great show! I think I may call in next week. I have a topic, if you make room for me Kef... growing old and gaming. I'm coming up on 28, and I'm finding that there isn't much in the industry that interests me. I've done FPSs, and it's not interesting to me anymore. I can't do JRPGs, I don't have the time to dedicate to an MMO, sports games generally bore the crap out of me... there isn't much left for a 22+ year gamer to get EXCITED about anymore. Is it a failing of me, a software engineer, or a failing of the industry? I spend all day long making the tools for making video games the government uses in REAL warfare... but I have a hard time finding a game I care about.

Discuss...

You (and I) are what Nintendo is trying to reach.

Pick up your DS and copy of Brain Age and join the Touch Generation.

It's an interesting topic, for sure, and I'd love for you to call in and give your take. I'm not sure I could contribute much, what with barely being over 20 and still being riidculously in love with gaming, but at the very least I'd give you the chance to air your opinions, man.

I'll definitely call in for my opinions on that next week. I'm about half-way through being 26 now, though I've got some different opinions on the matter. ;)

It's not so much the comic stuff that bugs me. I just want to talk about games one of these days and always get the comic lovin'. Ah well.

Thanks for the shout-out to Baby Spig for his birthday. One day he'll appreciate it.

Make sure you call me "Unkie Phil" and talk about how you knew me when. Meanwhile, I'll be swimming in a sea of cash bags.
