The weekend is fast approaching and plans need to be placed as to what games will be played. I am still doing UFO: Aftershock, some CoH, and that will probably be it for me. What are you playing this weekend?

My sexy Black DS Lite and whatever DS games I can get my hands on. Also, the Battlefield 2 demo has been keeping me entertained.

I'm gonna finish King Kong tonight before the AWESOME radio show that you all should tune into. After that, I've got a brand new copy of Rise of Nations waiting for me. I know I'm waaaay behind on this one, what with Rise of Legends coming out, but I had a real intense craving for some RTS earlier this week and realized I hadn't played RoN yet and could get it for super-cheap. I'll also probably do some New Super Mario Bros. once I take off for the Twin Cities for the week.

Well I'm going to a wedding out of town, so I'll probably be finishing up Final Fantasy I & II on the GBA.

When I get back I'll probably go back to climbing the ranks of the Fighter's Guild in Oblivion.

Some Oblivion, probably replay through the Prey demo again, maybe try out multiplayer. Most definitely some Civ IV and Deus Ex.

Picked up Pikmin 2 last weekend and have been enjoying the multiplayer with friends, so maybe I will put some time into the single player this weekend. Hopefully get some friends over to play some multiplayer games as well. We still kick it old school. I have a projector... all of us in the same room, just like the good old days.

My wife is working a 28-hour shift at the hospital, so I'm free to piddle around all day long playing whatever I like, which will be a little bit of Call of Cthulu, GRAW, Kameo, PGR3, The Godfather, some Xbox Live keech...

Just saw a new 3rd party controller for Guitar Hero.. Any comments on it yet?

There's a GH tournament in two weeks at a local "Dimension" store. (games rental store) I need to practice my mad skillz.

Migration season starting in Quebec, I have a buddy moving this weekend, and it would be lame for me not to go help him especially since he's the one from whom I borrowed the 360.

I'll be playing Naruto: Narutimate Hero 3 (http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/data/929749.html) this weekend. It came out in December and I completely forgot about it until now. I'm so excited, this series of games has had some great fighting games (if you're a fan of the series or not).

Beat NSMB the other night while fixing my computer (had to take a break or I'd kill someone) so maybe now Sword of Mana, Partners in Time, Riviera or the Golden Sun games. It'll be a DS weekend I think. If it doesn't rain, though it is supposed to all weekend, I'll be gaming very little, playing Disc Golf at various courses. I joined a Writer's Group and had my first meeting last night, so now I have a bit more motivation to write. Always good.

I think I might fire my 360 back up this weekend and download some demos. I unplugged it during a lightning storm a month ago and think it's time to plug it back in.

And hopefully I fix my motherfuckingcocksuckingbastardbitch computer as well.

Probably some Jedi Academy, PD0, and maybe starting on a JRPG. I've lost interest in Suikoden IV, the sailing goes too slow and there are far too many random encounters. Thinking of going through Xenogears again, or maybe trying my hand at Tales of Symphonia. I also have Star Ocean III here, but I hated it when I tried it. People say that you have to get past the first hour to start enjoying it, but I have a hard time forcing my way through crap like that.

I just beat Phoenix Wright last night. Great game. I may play some more NSMB, and now that the quarter is officially over and done with, I may try and get back into Oblivion. I've been playing GRAW, but goddammit, I'm stuck trying to save the Mexican president from a rebel assault. I've never been very good at Ghost Recon games ...

I may also play a little game I like to call, "See how many shots of whiskey I can drink, and then try and beat that number."

With GRAW, you pretty much have to just suck it up and start memorizing enemy locations. Don't worry, they won't change. Kind of loses the realism and "fun" of a tactical shooter, but you'll never beat it otherwise.

And I'll be playing that last game as well. Too bad they don't have that on Live yet.

Never played a Castlevania game before but after listening to all the raves here on EvAv I picked up the Castlevania Double Pack that has both: Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance and Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow.

Hope they didn’t double pack them cause they’re the poorest ones. I know Circle of the Moon has the best reviews but I couldn’t resist the 2 for 1 GBA cart.

They're both solid. You should enjoy them. I think they bundled them together b/c they're the most recent GBA castlevanias. Circle of the Moon is great too. You should pick it up, although you will probably have to settle for a used copy.

I've got a full plate this weekend. I wish I was better at choosing what to play.

Will play:
Dragon Quest VIII
Shadow of the Colossus
Oblivion
Jet Set Radio Future
Fable

Should play, but probably won't:
Hitman: Blood Money
Chronicles of Riddick
Final Fantasy X
Zone of the Enders
REmake

I guess I just lack the willpower to finish those.
In quite a few of them, I'm just at the edge of finishing it, but I can't.

I also have an interview I need to get ready for on Monday, Gamestop store manager position. Although since reading a few threads here I am taking it with a grain of salt now. The goal is to work on Golden Sun some for the GBA - having never owned the Advance, I'm hitting some older titles on the Lite, gather more Bells for a one Tom Nook so I can finish upgrading my house, and complete the 150cc tracks on Mario Kart DS. And hit worlds 4 and 7 in NSMB.

And, naturally, play the podcast tonight as well. Wicked busy, it seems.

That same dang mission took me longer too finish than any other in GRAW. The only advice I can give is to get on that third tank (take it down) as quickly as possible after making sure your AI buddies are holed up in a relatively safe place (like those bombed out holes near the front gate or back in the alcove (though they hardly ever seem to stay there)).

I didn't spot that third tank ‘till I used the top down map to see him come in and blast him from behind something like a double pillar.

Aside from the DS lovin' (My friends who just bought a Lite and a Red DS and they'll be visiting for some multiplayer fun) I'll be probably playing more Guitar Hero and Katamari when everyone comes over for my son's 2nd birthday party. Nothing like a party for a toddler when it's mostly my friends over for a videogame marathon :)

I kept playing it with the hopes that it'd become more enjoyable. After the first hour, it wasn't particularly good. After the first 10, it still wasn't great, and I was getting sick of the stuff which amused me in the first hour. After 20, there were some parts I quite liked, but I felt the story was dull and laboured. Maybe if I hadn't taken such huge gaps in between playing it, it would have flowed a bit better... but honestly, I only finished it for the sake of finishing it; there's better things I could've spent my time on.

BUT some people have very good things to say about the game, it just wasn't the JRPG for me.

Prey Demo - going to finish it sometime, got stuck yesterday and had to go to work. Might play through it again even.

Hero Online - I'm in the "closed" beta. It is another atrocious Eastern MMO. Lineage 2 with a fedual Japanese theme. Horrid. I'm not playing it ever again, but I did play it today and thought I'd mention it.

Harvest Moon: Magical Melody - This has to be the worst Harvest Moon ever. . . they give you a tiny plot and you have to choose to focus on farming, ranching, fishing, or mining instead of the normal mix of all of these. . . and cooking. As you upgrade your house, you are supposed to redo your farm as it takes up even more of your space. . . So basically, it is going back to Gamefly tomorrow.

Yeah. . . I hated A Wonderful Life too. How is it that they manage to screw up such a simple game? The one good thing in this one is that selecting items from your rucksack is much simpler. . .

This franchise could have become increasingly intricate and enhanced the dating game and the automation of the farm with various inventions, etc.

They all have good ideas, they just fail at so many other parts of the games that they become instruments of pain instead of a relaxing gameplay mechanic. I'm wondering when they're going to introduce sprinkler systems! Or maybe, at least, an oxe and plow? And getting ot know the townspeople ALWAYS is a chore. They never make it easy. If they had a response list of things you could ask ot get to know them, or the library would have a town history, including geneology and birth dates...
Natsume better be happy I don't work for them, because if I made a Harvest Moon game they'd never be able to top it and sell a sequel without it sucking.

My condolances. My best friend died suddenly from an asthma (sp) attack and the family wanted me to help clean out his house, work out the memorial service, etc. I am glad I did, after all, its the least you can do for your friends. It sucks in a sense because it puts a finality on it, but it does help with the healing. The games will be there when you are ready to come back. Again, my sympathy for you and your friend's family.

Try Suikoden V. I hear that's a great Suikoden game...the only thing is, you need to play at least 5 hours for it to start getting awesome. That always sucks--games should be great from the onset.

Star Ocean, I haven't played it in a week or so since I got the DS Lite, but it's fun. I like the battle system because random battles are avoidable and they go fast while in battle mode. I loved Star Ocean 2 for PS1, but I just can't find the same amount of love for SO3...though I do think it's a good JRPG.

Haha, I used an even MORE fucked up voice for fitbabits, I think. Both made me laugh, then embarrassed, but in the end I sent them anyway. Self-humor weighs more. :)

EDIT: I hadn't signed on XBL for a month or so, thought it would be fun to contact old buds!

I want to see a screenshot!

It was a voice message, so a screenshot would be pretty unfitting. Still, I'll take one. :p

Oh, I'm glad you sent it. It was worth it for the look I got on my face which made Amanda wonder just what the hell I was listening too.
