Japanese site GameWatch (http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/game/index.htm) has some screenshots (http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/game/docs/20060622/opera.htm) of the soon to be released Opera Browser for the Nintendo DS. The actual web browser is stored on a Nintendo DS cartridge, while a GBA cartridge exists for extended memory purposes and for downloading firmware updates. Notice there are 2 versions: one for the regular DS and one for the Lite. The Lite version's GBA cartridge is designed to fit perfectly into the DS Lite (and not stick out of the cartridge slot) and to go with the new handheld's slick style.

Interesting, though I'm not as excited about this since the DS can't handle WPA. One would have hoped that the Lite would have fixed that problem.

Ok, that's fucking awesome that the lite version has the smaller GBA cart.

Looks good. Though I already have my PSP for the internet too, every little helps. Should be easier if you can use the stylus to input keystrokes.

I can never see myself using a handheld like the DS or PSP to surf the internet. It just seems silly.

I'll be updating my website from the DS if I ever wander into a hotspot (The north east of England not being the most covered place).
Oh and in other news, my black DS lite is sexy and came to work with me ^_^

I'm pretty stoked for this. Recently, my computer went dead on me, and I had to walk twenty minutes to the library to check my email. I kept thinking, "If only I had that DS browser thing ..."
Also: firmware updates. Interesting.
