It's true that we can now easily track a 2D sidescroller on a per pixel basis... and I'm the biggest proponent of voxel tech... but this is lacking a certain wow-factor. They seem to be impressed with the tech capabilities and trying to feature that in this video, when they should be showing a strong characterization and story-premise. Maybe it's that the pace seems slow. Maybe it's the art style that makes it look like a fan-made game, I dunno.

Its neat.. And Minecraft is anything but a full throttle game, so not sure how the pacing complaint thing comes into play.

What do you mean by per pixel Anenome?

I mean that, in the past, with the NES and SNES days, there were only a certain number of pixels that the system could manipulate independently of the tile system. But today, we've got enough power that you could treat every pixel on the screen as a unique element to manipulate.

I can't recall any longer the technical term for the kind of manipulation I'm talking about. I just know it was limited on the NES/SNES, and today would be essentially unlimited.

This is a great little gem. Picked it up when it appeared on Steam and have been wasting waaaay to many hours digging around.
Damn it was a bitch getting all that Gold, definitly the hardest material to farm so far.

Voxels

Also, this is surprisingly a bit more Side Scrolling Diablo with minor building than it is minecraft 2D.

Sprite (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sprite_%28computer_graphics%29) (or "hardware" sprites)

I have over a dozen people on my steam list who play at least once a day. I've heard the creator is a dick, but his game is solid.

Voxels

It's not voxels if it's 2d. This game appropriates the infinite destructibility we've come to associate with voxel games, that's all. I think it's a nice feature.

If they port this to 360, I'll definitely pick it up. But if I'm sitting at my PC? I think I'd rather just play Minecraft.

This one goes a step further and is genuinely more fun. We just need an EvAv server >.>
