According to a very short forum post (http://forums.3drealms.com/vb/showpost.php?p=325514&postcount=24) on the 3D Realms forums by George Broussard, Human Head's Doom-3 engine shooter, Prey, has Gone Gold.
I smell Gold.

I'm not sure what you mean, it isn't at all unusual to see 3D Realms try to take credit for other developers work. ;)

Shit man, this could be the year of the anti-christ if the Take Two incentive rumor is true and Duke Nukem Forever is shipped by year-end.

Ha! Cracks me up how their site is all Prey'd out to cover the fact that they have not shipped a game since the end of the DOS days.

They did the same thing for Max Payne 1 and 2

Yea, I like George Broussard just fine, but I still think it is tacky to put the 3D Realms logo on the game box for Prey and to host all the developer Diaries for Prey on the 3DR website when it isn't 3DR that is developing the game.
It should be Human Head that is the center of attention for this title.

Max Payne 3. Alan Wake. Yet To Be Announced Game That Has 3D Realms Name Attached But Isn't DNF.
Max Payne 3 and Alan Wake aren't related to 3DR at all. 3DR and Remedy sold Max Payne to Take Two and Alan Wake is all Remedy.
What's the problem with 3DR having their logo on the box, hosting the developer diaries, or having their site all "Prey'd out' with banners and stuff to promote the game? They're producing the game as the classical Hollywood producer role who have quite a bit of say and pull in the development of any project, if you didn't know. It's their IP and they funded it a large chunk of it so they're just doing their part to promote the game to make it sucessful so it will pay off for all parties.
Now I'm no 3DR apologist (DNF LOL) but I like to give credit where it's due. HH develops and 3DR makes sure it's a quality product by play testing and giving feedback. Kind of like the same relationship with id software and the developers they use to develop games.

Ouch that is kinda harsh?
Come on, 3DRealms is a Publsiher too, not only that it was 3DRealms conceptual idea, purchase of the Doom3 engine and hiring of Human Head.
They also polish their published games to a razor fine edge, which includes creative and techincal support, IIR they even wrote the design docs for Prey or at the very least worked with Hunam Head.
Back on Topic.
I am certianly gald to hear this, I truely hope the Doom3 engine doesn't prevent this from being a great game.
Poor netcode and poor texture quality are sacrficed for high quality mapping, leading to low quality outdoor enviroments and world textures for better looking skins.
Human Head are some damn talented guys whom deserve a hit game, good luck guys. :)

You're knocking them for hosting the developer diaries? I just went to the site--the diaries are written by the Human Head guys. It says Human Head is developing the game. How is 3D Realms taking credit for it? They funded it and gave the project to HH. Why wouldn't they promote it?
Honestly, the PR this game gets is because of 3D Realms. I'm not knocking Human Head, but they're not really well known. Had they made a new IP on their own, it probably wouldn't have gotten anywhere near the attention that they got with Prey. If anything, they would be doing an IP owned by a publisher, probably a movie license, and they wouldn't get their name on the box (and possibly not very prominently in the game).
This is no different than id promoting Quake 4 (Raven) or Return to Castle Wolfenstien (Grey Matter & Nerve), or Epic promoting Unreal 2 (Legend) or Unreal Tournament (Digital Extremes).
There's plenty of reasons to pick on 3D Realms, but it seems kind of silly in this case.

Is it your first day here?
I'm glad someone else can actually use common sense when talking about George Broussard/DNF/3Drealms. 6 months ago every post with just a hint of 3Drealms got bashed into oblivion. It's like a free-for-all when they are involved!
We know they haven't delivered, but they do have talent for polishing games to extreme fun levels. I expect Prey to be great, and 3Drealms had alot to do with it.

I'm surprised they havn't outsourced DNF already and just gone all publishing. It doesn't seem to me they are not a very good developer anymore (a shame, Scott Miller/Apogee created some great games back in the day...).

Possibly the funniest, most creative post about DNF I've ever seen. (http://seenonslash.com/node/305) (Found while Stumbling)
I can't wait to check out the demo. This game sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun to play.

Good news. And I heard a rumor that a demo of DNF was to be bundled in with the PC version of the game, but it has since been denied by everyone I've talked to.

Strike platinum edition and plutonium pack from the list. They're not different games, they're patches on the original game.
They didn't do Max Payne either.
Are you also aware that East Meets West was a bundle packaging Duke Nukem 3D with Shadow Warrior? Again, not a new game, same old shit repackaged.
Monolith was the developer for Blood, 3d Realms owned the rights as publisher, but sold them to Monolith eventually.
Nuke It was developed by Micro Star. Frankly, you've just proven that you only did a web search and don't know what you're really talking about. Do you know that Nuke It was a level pack for Duke Nukem? Do you know that Micro Star "developed" the pack by stealing user community created maps? Do you know that they were successfully sued by 3D Realms and GT Interactive because of this?
So basically, as an entity called 3D realms, they developed 2 games, Duke Nukem 3D(1996) and Shadow Warrior(1997).
And if you really want to get picky, they were both made on the Build engine written by Ken Silverman, who eventually was employed by Apogee to continue development of the Build engine.

IIR, Remedy has openly given 3DRealms credit for development decisions in general and in fine tuning the gameplay.

It's possible, but , more likely all I did was post a quick link that proved you wrong and went to bed, I didn't find it necessary to be exact since you cleary were wrong. ;)
This is some kinda joke right your claiming addon packs which have had a rich history and been a blast to play, which IIR started with 3DRealms and id are Not developed games?
You are either confused, a troll or got a hair up your ass about 3DRealms. :)
Hell the list doesn't have to be 100% correct to prove you wrong and now your making more cavlier statements, this maybe the funniest/dumbest?
Wth does Ken Silverman developing (nice word developing, don't you think?) the Biuld engine have to do with jack or shit? :)

There are none so blind as those who will not see. Have fun playing the next game from the development house of 3D Realms. You're more likely to win the giant slolam at Hell's 1st Invitational Winter Sports Festival, though.
