So who here still plays SC2 regularly? I must admit I suck, which makes it that much sadder that I am a ladder addict.
I don't play a lot - not having a dependable PC to play on yet, but with the new season starting last week: I have been trying to at least keep my bonus pool manageable and try inch my way up the ladder.
Are any of you getting stuck into the new season - what are your ladder goals?

I played some, got a good rank in gold, but now it is like several month since I played it and it is hard to return to gold level like that:S

i have to admit that i have played a few games but i actual stared to hate ladders cuz i could get up to high gold, low plat but at that point it was do x if he is doing Y and it just became to manotomiss, in the end i am justplaying custom games and not much eles tbo, This is all for 1 on 1 i do like to play random 4v4 as can jus turn out to be a game of luck most of the time. and its fun to have 16 rax all with reactor :P

Yeah, I think 3v3 and 4v4 can be a ton of fun. But yeah I am addicted to 1v1 ladder still. Maybe if I get past Gold I hit a plateau too.

Yup I had several months off and I dropped from gold to bronze when I started again.
i haven't even finished the single player campaign. i like the game a lot, but i don't know if I could really ever be talked into multiplayer with it.
the curve is just too great. log in, get owned, find a new game, get owned, repeat until you have to study it to get better. bleh.
at this point i won't even buy the 'expansions'.

Try some custom games. There is a bunch and it's really enjoyable.

I'd love to play more, but it just doesn't seem like a "game" when you play online. You just follow some set build order and do exactly what everyone else does or you get raped. I'm sure strategy comes into it again at some point, but first you have to know to build exactly 5 SCVs then 3 barracks then 13 marines then the next thing. I dunno, I just don't see where the fun is.

After coming in ranked #2 in the world I decided to hang it up...
no thats not true... I just never found RTS's to be fun when you have to follow a set patch like Orph said. I did love Total Annihilation with my brothers... having like a 30 min build window then starting to fight.

Yes, that or try some team games 3vs3/ 4v4 can be a lot of fun, even if you are playing with random team mates.

I have to disagree with this. There is some learning to do, but you get most of the basics in SP. There are build orders and they are useful when you first start to play, but only to give you something to build off of. Following a set build order will net you losses.SC 2, can be pretty dynamic, especially when you are scouting a bit and responding properly.

I've been playing 5 nights a week since release, and I was kind of bummed by Season 2 starting. I had a pretty sweet win count and now it's all but dust. Also I was working hard trying to get my diamond 4v4 in Season 1, then I played one game in Season 2 and got instantly placed in Diamond - so it was a little anti-climatic.
As for build orders, you definitely need to know a few solid builds for your race and then a general understanding of every other races'. Say for Protoss vs Protoss - there are only two ways to win a 4gate rush: a better, quicker 4gate or a 3 stalker scout. And since 4gates happen 80% of the time, if you don't know how to do it, you're dead. It does get a little monotonous, but that's why I really only play team games now.
Really looking forward to the expansions, but good god, who knows how long that will take since they had barely even started it on when SC2 was released.
Used to be Gold / Platinum 1v1 but now I mostly play 2v2 with a friend for fun once in a while. I still enjoy watching games where the pro's duke it out :)

Yeah, I was surprised by how much I enjoy watching good games. Which caster do you watch?

Yeah, Day 9 is great. I find Husky a little annoyingly unfocused but he does have some good matches on occasional.

I have been on a little break for the last two weeks or so. I was placed back into diamond. I have no idea what my secret score is or whatever determines my actual ranking. MY goals? Even if I had them I feel like I still wouldn't know if I achieved them or not. I honestly wish they would just have a ladder like the one they did back in SC 1. I would rather be rank 361,934 and be able to tell that i improved when im down to 299,000 than deal with being stuck in a division forever with points that mean next to nothing.
I do love SC2 though -.-

Not yet, but I am planning on it! I watched the one from last year and it was great. Morrow, TLO and White-Ra are my three favourite players to watch (and I like watching Idra lose:))
I still feel something is wrong though - that I know the names of e-sports players. Obviously my inner geek scares me.
