We're bringing you a very special Evil Avatar Radio podcast tonight. Last week we were lucky enough to conduct an interview with Simon Carless (http://www.mono211.com/ffwd/bio.html). You may know Simon as the editor of such great games journalism ventures as the Webby award-winning Gamasutra (http://www.gamasutra.com/), Game Developer Magazine (http://www.gdmag.com/homepage.htm), and GameSetWatch (http://www.gamesetwatch.com/). It's a really great interview where we discuss both games journalism and video game development. Listen now here (http://www.evilavatarradio.com/audio/EAR.Interview.Simon.Carless.mp3), or update your iTunes and/or other podcatcher!

Sweet! I'm still bummed about there being no show last week, but I aim to make up for it this week (assuming you're healthy, that is).

Things are looking good, at least as far as my throat's concerned. :)

Yeah, I just got done explaining to Kef it's late and I'm too vague right now.
...or am I?

Okay, so you're either a total genius or a complete loon! It's hard to tell which. :p

Good interview! I love geekdom from a British perspective. ;)
Edit: And I love how old Kef makes me feel when he says shit like being born in 83-84. (Which is when I started gaming as well, mind you I was 3 or 4 at the time, but still....)

The British accent really does give us some semblance of validity, I think.

To get back on track.
Just for the uninformed we are over 1200 dedicated listeners and about 5000 casual.
(Our interviews and roundtables--E3 specials! are usually the heaviest traffic. If you're a developer or in the comic biz and you've got some juice, talk to Kef.)
Simon gave us a lot of juicy info on what goes on behind the scenes at a site like Gamasutra. Plus he gave us a little bit of history about the name...oh and you sooo know where that is going.

Totally. I had to chuckle a little when he rambled off some of those titles. Hadn't heard those in a long time.

Much moreso than the Scottish accent.
OH NO I DIDN'T!

The Scottish accent just gives us a feeling of drunkeness. It's good too, just different.

There is no British accent! There's English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish. Pick one.

Hey hey! Don't be lumping Kefka's midwestern whine in with the Noble Canadian Accent, eh?

You mean your non-regional English diction? It's not too shabby. Though I like to think mine isn't bad either, except when I drop the "eh?" bomb.

I don't whine.

I'd agree. You don't sound too terribly Canadian too often. I know I still got the Minnesotan thing going on once in a while, but not half as bad as most of the people I know. :p
