TeamXbox has a video update with a slight "tweak (http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/11141/Enable-Custom-Soundtracks-for-Xbox-Games/) ".

I think this is pretty cool myself, as I tried to do this when I first got the 360, and was FOILED.

Now that is very cool. It's starting to become my hobby to replace music in dreamcast games, so I support this for sure.

Edit: Oh well I guess this isn't quite the same thing. It's just overlaying your music on top of your game, and the game needs it's own volume control option to turn off the built in music. Damn.

I did this by accident a few days ago. I was playing Uno, then popped Halo 2 in, but the music was still playing. I couldn't turn it off from the guide, cuz there is no guide in Xbox 1 games.

Another thing that messed up, my random and play straight through buttons are messed up. Its opposite what it should be. Anyone else have this problem?

You should have the play straight through button showing when you are in shuffle mode, and vice versa.

Mogus that Dreamcast music replacment always seemed to tasky for me to bother.

If you have a PC with TV out (for Movies...) and it goes to the same TV you play your console games on (we all use the biggest Telly right...) you could just splice your PC's left and right speaker Audio Channels into the Red and White Xbox / Xbox360 / Audio Channels on your Consoles AV Cables so that all sounds are piped into the same place. Whenever your playing Xbox.

These are great for that you need 2 though for left and right. Just get one and use the White RCA jack if your a Mono fiendWhite pipes left and right channel.

Now all you do is use your Wireless KB (Media Shortcuts FTW) and mouse to navigate the sounds you want to play through Winamp/Itunes whatever into your consoles.

Also great for having nice ambient music whenever your not gaming. :)

Just tested an RCA Y Splitter for white AV Cable Mono (White doesnt mix both channels niehter does Red) Just about to play some burnout Artic Monkey Style.

I wish you could push a lower level video signal over the top of another. That way you could queue up some kind of change of alert.

Has anyone every plugged to consoles into the same AV channel at the same time? You can see both screens they just keep rolling over the top of each other.

2 RCA Y Splitters = Custom whatever you want sound wise anyway.

This will be great for Halo 2, which has no music or anything when playing online. I don't see why the guide can't be accessed to play music on Xbox titles with the disclaimer that the music will simply play over whatever the game itself is playing.

I was just doing some messing about with my Y Splitter RCA, And then I made a little Artic Monkeys Burnout Revenge demo complete with only 1 Takedown

If you cannot turn the music Down or Off in game the Mish Mash sound terrible horrible. Thats probably why it will not be supported. Until they can pause something or stop it completley I doubt they will release something that can be accidently used to ruin the existing in game music completly.

Its great for the reasons its great but Mish Mashes are always lame IMO.

It would be fairly simple to create a little USB mp3 Player 3.5 MM Sterio Jack to RCA convertor that you could link between your Audio In on your sterio or TV with a forward back play pause and volume button in line.

That way if the game you were did have Un Turnable Off music you could just hit mute. It would also work from any console that RCA sound jacks :p

I must say Microsoft is doing a pretty good job with their console...

Replacing the music at the game's core is always the best way to do things. But this method you listed is easier done on most any stereo reciever with tape deck functionality. It will let you combine two audio sources into one. Me and friends used to always play my mp3s over sessions of smash brothers melee.
