Peter Moore says the 360 underpromised and overdelivered on backwards compatability! (Bullshit!)

Not bullshit. The backwards compatibility blows, but they never promised it would be great.

Not gonna do the digging cause we already had a thread devoted to this (that should be linked in the full show notes), but there were quotes from Msoft employees saying that expected to achieve close to 100% compatibility. They didn't start downplaying till later.

Do you guys have a non-iTunes-only RSS feed so that I can put this into Juice and get the updates as they come?

No, but just for you we will. Juice doesn't ignore the itunes tags?

Eep -- is there any reason our normal RSS feed won't work with this?

Yes, iTunes would make the already quality podcast, even more quality-laden! Its almost too much to look forward to!

No, I just like EvilAvatar podcasts. I can't say what I do for a living, but I will say that I evaluate entertainment programming and EvilAvatar's podcast formula is better than almost every other gaming podcast. Its authentic, informative, and entertaining.

I also like 1up's podcast, but they often get into too much bickering and are easily distracted from the topic at hand. The best 'raw' podcast is Aggravated Gamers - I scour the web hourly and don't find half of their news stories (they need to avoid talking about their website issues before each podcast - takes up too much time)

So, that is why I am happy :)

Wow! Well, it is MUCH appreciated. :) Hopefully you can toss us some e-mails or leave us some feedback some time. Or put in the good word with some devs *hint hint* :p I certainly try to avoid any bickering on the show as it tends to get mindless and boring for listeners, IMO.

I haven't heard Aggravated Gamers, so I'll need to check them out for sure.

Oh, uh, also, antonio, if you're some sort of scout for G4 or MTV or something, hook me the fuck up, please. Kthx!

Heh... I am a scout (if you want to use that term), but not for those networks (although one is VERY VERY CLOSE ;)... )

Here is the link to Aggravated Gamers (http://www.lixasone.com/wordpress/). Like I said, they are as raw as a podcast could possibly get, but they are what I could only define as true gamers (like you). However unrefined their broadcast is, it is always informative. I tend to root for these guys for some reason...

By the way, I can explain more if you email me here (agaud@kabillion.com).

Heyas, thought I was due to leave some feedback. I've listened to about the last 4 now, provides a good alternative to the mainstream podcasts.

At the moment I listen to 4 video game podcasts, Twitch Asylum, Gamespot, 1up, and you guys. Twitch isn't really comparable to EA's I would say but I think they do a good job. Gamespot I used to think was good, but lately I've changed my mind. They're often late to the table with news to the point of redundancy (EA had 10X better podcast coverage of E3) and their attempt at being hip/cool just come off as trying too hard. And that counterstrike chick urrghh..

1up I first thought was total garbage (mainly with all the profanity), but to some extent they are really just enthusiastic, and at least it's interesting. Usually they manage to include some interesting contraversial topic, but at the same time, some of the console hate from various podcast members seems a bit over the top.

EA, well, perhaps surprisingly, EA's podcast often comes off as more professional than either 1ups or gamespots. Part is the quality of the speakers, and secondly, the good job by the technical staff. The only hole I would pick at is that sometimes you have a guest on where the sound quality is just not adequate for the podcast. Their voice is either too soft to hear what they're saying, or on one occasion there was a high pitched whine (maybe 2 eps ago) which made the podcast almost unlistenable. It would be nice if you could identify these problems as they occur and then move onto the next guest or segment.

Apart from that, as someone who has no interest in american comics (outside of the occasional web comic), the comics coverage does seem to be intruding a little too much on the video game coverage. Anyway, I suppose if the interest is there who am I to fight it :p.

Now that I don't have a regular internet connection, podcasts are a valuable way for me to keep up with the gaming news, so thanks for your efforts!

cheers

Wow, excellent constructive opinions man!

Also interesting is I didn't even know Gamespot had a podcast. ;)

Thank you for the excellent feedback! we appreciate getting it. I haven't heard of Twitch Asylum, so I'll have to give them a listen. As for our ocassional technical difficulties, well, the superior recording quality with our cast is due in large part to the fact that most of the show is recorded at a local radio station. What this also means, though, is that technical difficulties can often be too big for us to deal with effectively, and also the recording often sounds slightly different to what I'm hearing when I'm in-studio. That said, we're definitely working towards making this stuff better, so hopefully you'll see more improvements in the future. :) Glad you're digging the 'cast. As long as there are people like you who both enjoy and depend on our podcast for info, we'll keep doing our best to get it out to you.
